A Ford Ranger flipped twice over a median strip into oncoming traffic after the driver clicked another vehicle on a busy highway.

Dramatic footage of the collision was captured by a dashcam on the Mornington Peninsula Freeway in Melbourne’s Aspendale Gardens last Wednesday.

The 36-year-old driver miraculously did not go to hospital after the vehicle rolled several times – but he was ticketed for failing to yield.

The red and white ute was traveling north in the left lane before 9:00 am when it turned right and changed lanes.

The ute drove straight in front of a black Mitsubishi Triton that was traveling at the same speed in the right lane.

The Ford Ranger hit the Triton before hitting the grassy median strip twice.

Debris from the vehicle flew into the air as it rolled, propelling the contents of the rear of the car.

The car then ended up on its side on the other side of the highway as vehicles traveling in the opposite direction sped past.

The Triton driver slammed on the brakes and stood upright on the bitumen to avoid further carnage.

No one was injured in the accident.

Ambulance personnel escorted the motorist from the car that rolled over at the scene.

The horrifying vision was posted on social media on Sunday with divided opinions as to which driver caused the accident.

‘I wonder if they’ll ever try to get through again? Springvale road overpass in Melbourne VIC,” one person wrote.

‘idk about the Australian speed limit, but the right lane driver is all wrong,’ claimed one commenter.

The right lane is for overtaking. Unless the highway is less than 90 km/h, in both lanes and in both lanes in any case.’

“The red Ute driver clearly knew the dark Ute was there, they just expected them to get out of the way, (right),” said another.

Paramedics attended the offending motorist at the scene, but he did not require further treatment (photo, the car rolls over the median)
