Punk controversially left WWE the night after the Royal Rumble in 2014, citing creative frustrations as well as anger over the lack of medical care he received at the time.

But not everyone was happy to see him back, as McIntyre reportedly stormed the Allstate Arena after the main event and slammed his locker room door.

It is unknown why McIntyre was so upset by Punk’s return, but he wasn’t the only star to react this way.

Seth Rollins had to be physically restrained by Michael Cole and Corey Graves as he shouted expletives and gave the middle finger to Punk when he appeared.

Various sources say that when McIntyre was backstage, he grabbed a hoodie and left ‘immediately’.

It was said that many people saw that McIntyre was incredibly angry, but it is not known why.

His actions were said to have been ‘loud and clear’ and there were many people backstage who witnessed the incident.

WWE legend and Chief Content Officer Triple H recently shed some light on the process of bringing back someone like Punk.

“This was one of those lightning moments that came together really quickly, but we’re incredibly excited about it.” he said.

“It’s been a long time and in some ways it’s been a long time coming. You know, you can say this about CM Punk. Love him, hate him, positive, negative, whatever you want to say, people talk about him all the time.
