- Reports suggested that the 38-year-old had signed a new contract with the WWE
- Drew McIntyre has not reached an agreement on a contract extension
- Time was added to his existing contract after he missed a few months of action
Contrary to recent reports, Drew McIntyre has not signed a new contract with WWE.
The Scot, who won a world title win against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40 in April, has spoken to WWE about a new contract for almost a year, but a deal has yet to be reached.
His original contract was set to expire before WrestleMania, but the company bought more time back on his current deal after he missed a few months of action last year, as first reported by Fighting selection.
McIntyre will see that via WrestleMania in Philadelphia, but no new agreement has been reached.
Sources tell MailSport that talks are not close to being completed, although they are ongoing and both parties are hopeful.

McIntyre won a world heavyweight title against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40 in April
A major point of contention previously was how McIntyre would be used. Now that he is arguably on the run for his career, the former two-time world champion is much happier with his creativity. Clearly, money is not the stumbling block.
McIntyre earned a world heavyweight title at the upcoming WrestleMania showpiece by winning the six-man Elimination Chamber Match in Perth, Australia.
He outlasted Kevin Owens, Bobby Lashley, Logan Paul and LA Knight in the knockout match before pinning WWE legend Randy Orton to claim a stunning victory.
The win gave him the opportunity to troll CM Punk for a chance at a WrestleMania main event – something Punk has never had – but there was initial concern that McIntyre might not be a good fit for the event.
The 38-year-old recently won the Elimination Chamber event to secure his place at WrestleMania 40
The 38-year-old revealed he suffered an eardrum injury in the elimination chamber, telling WWE’s The Bump: ‘I said I would do whatever it took, not just for me, but for everyone else.
“Every superplex, every dive out of the cage, (and) every power bomb to my neck was worth it. I said I would overcome any obstacle. I pushed Cody to finish his story, that’s what the fans wanted. Forced Seth (Rollins) to stop being selfish.
“Some people say, ‘It’s just so you can get Seth at WrestleMania.’ Yeah, I just had to beat AJ Styles (in a qualifying match), and I just had to put myself through hell while being jetlagged, while this eardrum seemed to burst. Worth the effort.
“I did it for all of you. We are so close, so close. And at WrestleMania we finish our own story and I finally get my moment,” he added.
