Drew Barrymore avoided directly addressing Donald Trump’s victory over Kamala Harris in the 2024 US election during the taping of her show on Wednesday morning – just months after calling for the Democratic candidate to ditch ‘Momala’ to be the country.
In the early hours it was announced that Trump had regained the White House, becoming the first president in more than 130 years – and only the second in history – to win a non-consecutive second term.
Talk show host Drew, 49, chose to blissfully ignore the election results as she filmed her CBS program at 10 a.m. Wednesday and did not directly address Harris’ loss or the Republican Party’s victory.
Instead, the ET actress spent her efforts having a light-hearted chat with Judy Greer and Peter Holmes in anticipation of their upcoming holiday film The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.
She also whipped up fresh croissants with a Thanksgiving twist with Christina Tosi in the kitchen.

At one point an audience member referred to “last night,” but Drew steered the conversation to advocate for everyone to be themselves and feel safe.
Before wrapping up the episode, Drew admitted to the audience that she wanted to learn how to care less as she approached her 50s.
Drew’s talk show is currently in its fifth season and typically records two episodes three times a week – one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
In April, her interview with Harris went viral after she urged the then-vice president, 60, to be “Momola.”
The presenter said at the time: ‘I’ve been thinking about the fact that we all really need a huge hug in the world right now.’
Drew then slid close to Harris on the couch and continued to beg her to become a “mom” to the entire US.
“But in our country we need you as the mother of the country,” she said.
Harris smiled and seemed unsure how to respond to the new name.
“Yeah, I mean,” Harris replied without finishing her sentence.
Drew then leaned forward and held Harris’ hands as the audience applauded.

At another point in the interview, Harris defended her laugh, suggesting that those who joke about it are exhibiting a form of sexism.
“You asked me earlier what it means to be the first woman [vice president]Harris said to Drew.
“And you know, it’s funny, because people are still getting used to this, right?”
Harris then claimed that an example of continued misogyny where the public adapts to having a female vice president is when people draw more attention to her smile or mannerism.
‘I mean, my staff for example, they sometimes show me little things that I just have fun with. Apparently some people like to talk about the way I laugh,” Harris said.
Harris publicly conceded the 2024 US election in a speech at Howard University on Wednesday afternoon.
It was previously reported that she called Trump hours after the race was called and her devastating defeat was confirmed.
