Drew Barrymore dramatically BEGS for help with her ‘triggering’ 11-year-old daughter in latest cringe-worthy talk show interview – as she ‘name drops’ best friend Cameron Diaz and reveals shared fears about their kids
Drew Barrymore put on another dramatic performance on her talk show today as she begged for help for her “triggering” daughter, while causally calling her best friend Cameron Diaz out – just days after leaving viewers cringing at her bizarre interview with Kamala Harris.
The former child star, 42, was joined by Grey’s Anatomy actress Jessica Capshaw, 47, on her self-titled ABC show, and theatrically collapsed on the couch as she begged her guest for parenting advice.
Drew – mother to daughters Olive, 11, and Frankie, 10, whom she shares with ex-husband Will Kopelman, 45 – was desperate to curb her eldest child’s obsession with wanting to grow up.
“My daughter, who is about to turn 12, actually wants to be 16… 25,” she said.

“But so are we,” Jessica tried to reason. ‘We also.’
Drew admitted that she had before letting out a loud sigh and throwing herself onto the couch, exclaiming, “It’s so triggering!”
“We can’t blame them,” says Jessica, who shares children Luke, 16, Eve, 13, Poppy, 11, and Josephine, seven, with her enterprising husband Christopher Gavigan, 50.
‘What shall I do?’ Drew asked.
Turning her attention to her 13-year-old, Jessica said, “The teenage thing can be really challenging, and at the same time it’s [can be] really as simple as you make it.
‘I do my best to be like this: listen. These are the fences. They’re not walls, but there’s something there.
‘And with telephones it was the first. We waited until she was 13 and there was a contract. And there was: what do I expect from you? What do you expect from me? What does this phone mean?’
Later in their conversation, Drew revealed that she had a conversation with her best friend Cameron, 51, about her fears about the way young people like to dress.

She said: ‘Not to mention names, but one of my best friends is Cameron Diaz, and I was like, ‘The way these girls dress today!’
‘And she goes, “Oh, come on. You remember the ’70s with bikini tops and dolphin shorts.” And I thought, “Yes, but it felt different.” And she said, “Come on! We were all wearing tube tops and little shorts.”
Drew is no stranger to discussing her children on her self-titled show and last month she recalled the time her daughter Olive surprised her by trying on her wedding dress from her wedding to her ex-husband Will.
“The other day I came home and was told that Olive had a surprise for me,” the actress explained. “And so I walked into the room and she was standing there in my wedding dress.”
Her cohosts – including Ross Matthews – let out a shocked gasp as they listened to the story, along with some of the live audience.
Drew continued, “And I looked at her and I was like, ‘Oh my God, you look so beautiful!'”

“I say, ‘You know, that’s technically the second time you wore that dress, because you were in my belly for six months when I wore it. And I’m saving it for you and your sister.’
Former couple Drew and Will married in 2012, just a year after they started dating.
Their divorce was finalized in 2016.
Earlier this week, Drew sent the internet into a tailspin after a bizarre interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.
During one particularly chilling segment, Drew slid close to Kamala on the couch, held her hands and begged the politician to become a “mother” to the US.
She said, ‘But in our country we need you as the Momala of the country.’
At another point in the interview, Kamala defended her laugh and suggested that those who joke about it are exhibiting a form of sexism.
Earlier this week, Drew was joined by Kamala Harris and formed an awkward bond with the vice president. In a cringe-worthy moment, Drew called an unamused Kamala ‘Momala’
“You asked me earlier what it means to be the first woman [vice president]she said to Drew.
“And you know, it’s funny, because people are still getting used to this, right?”
Kamala then claimed that an example of continued misogyny where the public adapts to having a female vice president is when people draw more attention to her smile or mannerisms.
‘I mean, my staff for example, they sometimes show me little things that I just have fun with. Apparently some people like to talk about the way I laugh,” she said.
Drew pushed the vice president onto the couch and said enthusiastically, “Oh yeah. OK. I love your Smile.’
“I have my mother’s smile,” Kamala continued.
‘And I especially grew up with a group of women who laughed from their belly. They were laughing, sitting in the kitchen and drinking their coffee, telling big stories with big laughs.”
“You know, I’ll never be like that,” Kamala said before giving a graceful chuckle into her hand.
