Drew Barrymore admits that she is ‘so touchy’ during her show and that some guests have told her to ‘back off’
Drew Barrymore is known for being exuberant and sensitive with her talk show guests.
The ET star gets up close and personal with her guests sitting very close to them, often with their faces inches away, and also holding hands.
Drew is also a hugger and especially when the interviews get emotional, she gives out hugs generously.
However, some guests have requested that the Never Been Kissed star ‘back off’.
“I’m so sensitive,” Barrymore admitted during an interview with Wicked star Cynthia Erivo.
‘People have to warn me, they say, ‘Stand back a little.’ And I think, “Why?”

The 50 First Dates star also said she has been working on her “closeness” and the amount of “physical distance” she maintains from guests.
Erivo was the perfect guest to talk about this because she is just as affectionate and sensitive as Drew.
“I’m the hospitable Capricorn,” Erivo told the Ever After star. “It’s like, ‘I love you. You can touch.'”
Erivo said that during the lengthy filming of Wicked, she and Ariana Grande developed their friendship, including being able to touch each other with affection.
‘If [we’re] When I’m disconnected, I think, “What’s going on? What’s happening? Where are you?” You know what I mean?’ said Erivo.
‘We often walk hand in hand. For example, if we don’t walk hand in hand, we will find each other somewhere.’
Barrymore talked about that and said that this is exactly how she wanted life and that everyone in it was like that.
‘That’s how I want life to be. Because physical connection… I’m single. I’m not dating anyone. I don’t have that in my life, but I don’t know how I could ever stop myself from holding hands, hugging, cuddling,” she revealed.

Erivo said she thinks people let fear get in the way.
“I think we’re becoming a little afraid of physical connection,” she explained. “I think we assume that physical connection can only be romantic.”
She also noted that reaching out and touching someone is also a way to convey your feelings without talking.
“Sometimes you can’t say anything and you’re in a room and… it’s just a handshake,” she said.
‘And that’s how it is sometimes [Grande] and I’m communicating, maybe we’re talking to someone, or I need to communicate something to her and it’s just a squeeze of the hand or just a squeeze of a finger, or a hug.”
Erivo added: “Whatever way we need to communicate is the way we need to communicate. And I don’t think we pay enough attention to the way we physically communicate with our friends.”
Barrymore agreed, saying, “I think if we all became more comfortable with physical touch, I would like that world.”
When it was Grande’s turn on the show, 31, Drew moved her to tears by handing her Glinda’s wand from the 1939 film.

When Ariana Grande, 31, had her turn on the show, Drew moved her to tears by offering her Glinda’s wand from the 1939 film.
When Ariana was handed the historic item, which belongs to a private owner, she covered her mouth and exclaimed, “Are you serious?”
She showed off her quick wit as she pretended to leave the set with the wand, joking, “Thanks, guys. It was fun. Bye!’
Ariana, who plays Glinda in Jon Chu’s film, shared a photo of herself with the wand on Instagram.
To captivate her audience of 376 million, she tagged Drew and her show and wrote, “Thank you for this extraordinary gesture and moment.”
She added, “I’m so grateful for our conversation today and for your heart, your generosity, your everything.”
The gushing note ended with, “I love you so much. There really are no words.”
Part one of Wicked was released in theaters on November 22, after a whirlwind press tour full of viral moments.
