Drew Barrymore, 48, reveals the real reason she has never tried plastic surgery or injectables like Botox

Drew Barrymore reveals this week why she has never tried plastic surgery and never will.

She said she was afraid she would become addicted to it.

The 48-year-old actress turned talk show host – who had her first stint in rehab when she was just 13 years old – doesn’t see herself ‘resorting’ to going under the knife.

And she admitted that she was hesitant mainly because she was concerned that she would be the kind of person who would become obsessive in the pursuit of perfection.

“I haven’t done anything and I’m going to keep doing that as long as possible,” she said People. ‘I have no judgment whatsoever about anyone who does anything. But I don’t see myself doing it…

“I have a very addictive personality, so I’m afraid I would keep chasing it, trying to get this and that done. That scares me, just because of my own approach to things. So I’m waiting for any changes.’

The Whip It actress – who has Olive, 11, and Frankie, nine, with ex-husband Will Kopelman – joked that she is looking forward to seeing what she looks like as she ages naturally.

She said: ‘And I’m looking forward to seeing what I look like as a leather bag in the future!’

And Drew emphasized that there is no need to worry about getting older, but that people should focus their concerns on their health.

She said: ‘It means that you are alive, that you are alive, and that is very good. Embracing aging is such a positive, healthy message.

‘Health mainly comes into the picture when there is danger.

‘When you’re healthy, you can focus on so many other things, including beauty. But it’s actually the most important thing.’

In 2022, she also said she won’t be getting injectables like Botox.

Drew previously promised to show her daughters that growing older is a “luxury.”

She said at the time: ‘I am now more determined than ever to show my daughters that growing older is a luxury. If we’re lucky, we’ll all get older.

‘I just want them to be at peace with who they are and not with what they look like. If they’re good, cool people, that’s all I care about.”
