Dream Home viewers call out grim detail in contestants’ kitchen: ‘What were Taeler and Elle thinking?’

Dream Home sisters Taeler and Elle suffered a blow on Sunday evening.

The duo decided to tackle four rooms in Jacinta and Jordan’s Punchbowl home, boldly transforming the laundry room, toilet, utility room and kitchen.

The kitchen had a natural stone countertop and backsplash and a large island with a hob. The sink was in the corner, near the utility room.

The Victoria sisters were praised for the opulence of the kitchen, but some onlookers noticed one very morbid detail in their design.

“I just realized that the wall-to-wall brick kitchen reminds me of a morgue. The island is like a slab where the bodies are,” one social media user wrote.

“That kitchen looks like a mausoleum. What were Taeler and Elle thinking?” another commented.

‘As expected, what a terrible kitchen Taeler and Elle made. Bland and boring… yuck,’ wrote a third.

And they weren’t the only ones who claimed the sisters’ design fell short.

The jury also criticised the kitchen’s lack of functionality and the excessive use of stone.

“I immediately feel disappointed… because there is a way to mass produce bricks, but I don’t think they’ve quite got it right here,” said judge Rosie Morley.

Meanwhile, Simon Cohen said: ‘It’s just too much rock. I think they went too bold and too hard.’

What is disappointing is [the sink] is probably the most used appliance in the kitchen, next to the refrigerator, and you’re sitting here with not even enough room to do the dishes,’ added Lana Taylor.

Meanwhile, the duo’s utility room and laundry room have been criticized for their lack of storage space.

The duo received a score of 19 out of 30, placing them at the bottom of the week’s rankings.

Dream Home continues on Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel 7 and 7plus.
