Draymond Green’s violent stunts ‘make me cringe,’ ex-Heat forward Udonis Haslem says as Warriors star serves indefinite NBA suspension: ‘I can never do those things’

Former Heat forward Udonis Haslem says he cringed at the string of violent antics that got Draymond Green banned from the NBA.

The four-time NBA champion was handed an indefinite suspension on December 13 after punching Phoenix Suns' Jusuf Nurkic in the face.

A few weeks earlier he had troubled Minnesota's Rudy Gobert. Green has been ejected three times this season, with the NBA suspending him six times over the course of his career.

Last year, the Warriors fined him after he punched then-teammate Jordan Poole.

In a recent episode of 'The big podcast with Shaq,” Haslem was asked about the Warriors forward.

Draymond Greens violent stunts make me cringe ex Heat forward Udonis Haslem

“Seeing the things that were happening made me cringe,” Udonis Haslem said

The 43-year-old, who spent his entire 20-year NBA career with the Heat, said: “Seeing the things that happen made me cringe,” he said.

“I'm my father's son: we don't start trouble, we just end it. So for me, I think Draymond getting to the point where he's the initiator is not a good thing.

Haslem, who was recently named vice president of basketball development at Miami, added, “I put myself in that situation because I'm an OG (original gangster) and a leader. So when I look at Draymond, I try to put myself in his shoes.

'I don't want to be on top and throwing stones. It just makes me cringe because I can imagine him hitting Jordan Poole, I imagine me hitting (Heatguard) Tyler Herro like that and I'm trying to understand where he's coming from.

“And I can never do those things. As a man, I have to make some decisions alone. But when you get back into the gym, you have to make decisions. That's up to you.'
