Draymond Green has criticized Dillion Brooks, labeling the Memphis Grizzlies guard a “clown” and insisting that none of his teammates want him as the feud between the two high-profile NBA players grows more ugly every day
The fiery comments from the four-time NBA champion come after Brooks, 27, let it be known to ESPN last week that he doesn’t like Green “at all” and thinks the power forward “talks a lot.” He also gets away with it.
The Canadian further revealed that he simply doesn’t like the Golden State Warriors, ahead of the teams’ highly anticipated showdown at the FedEx Forum on Thursday.
Although the Grizzlies and Warriors aren’t technically rivals per se, Green didn’t hold back with his NBA counterpart on the latest episode of ‘The Draymond Green Show’ podcast.
‘[Brooks] said, “I don’t like Draymond at all.” you don’t know me That’s number one,” Green said Wednesday, reading each line of quotes and reacting to them.
“He said, ‘I just don’t like Golden State.’ Frankly, I wouldn’t like a team that beats me all the time either. That is number two.
Green, 33, hit back at Dillion Brooks, 27, on the latest episode of The Draymond Green podcast.
Green and Brooks last exchanged words during the Christmas Day Warriors-Grizzlies matchup.
”’I don’t want anything to do with them.” Frankly, you were a little kid in high school watching us win championships. You should be happy to have witnessed that… you are a fan. That’s crazy.
But Green, who played a pivotal role in the Warriors’ dynasty for the past decade, didn’t stop there.
“If you’ve ever wondered why the Memphis Grizzlies aren’t ready to challenge for a championship, look no further than this idiot,” Green said. “They actually depend on this guy to help them win a championship, and he says his game is great…
“Frankly, that shows how little you know about basketball. That’s where it gets really interesting. Your level of understanding of the game of basketball is at the level of an amateur.
“And you’re going around talking about a dynasty?” The dynasty starts after you, not with you. That’s just a fact. I know dynasty players. They are not clowns. That doesn’t work when building a dynasty.

It’s fair to say there’s been some contention between the Warriors and Brooks, going back to last summer, when the latter injured Gary Payton II in Game 2 of a thrilling 4-2 series in the Western Conference semifinals.
Fortunately for Golden State, Brooks didn’t get away with it, as he ended up being ejected from the game with a Flagrant Foul 2. Since then, various Warriors and Grizzlies players have clashed on and off the court.
Brooks began his feud with the Warriors when he fouled Gary Payton II in the playoffs last year.
This season, Brooks feuded with Warriors veteran Klay Thompson in a Christmas Day loss.
Warriors veteran Klay Thompson added fuel to a fire already smoldering on Christmas Day when he stared at Brooks after hitting a 3-pointer in Golden State’s 109-123 win.
Brooks also had run-ins with Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell and Fox Sports’ Shannon Sharpe of Undisputed.
“I’m trying to figure out why they like you in Memphis,” Green added on his podcast Wednesday. Or do they like you in Memphis? I’m not sure your classmates like you. It doesn’t lead to winning. I can tell you why they like me [in Golden State]. When you contribute the way I’ve contributed to winning four championships, they tend to like you.
‘The next time you talk about me, you should do some soul-searching. The next time you talk about me, I hope you’re in a better place than you are right now, where the guys you play with really enjoy playing with you because they really think you’re contributing to winning.
The Warriors have another matchup against the Grizzlies down the stretch on March 18. First, though, they’ll have to get the job done on Thursday without star guard Ja Morant being available to the Grizzlies.
Morant is spending time away from the team amid an indefinite suspension from the NBA for brandishing a weapon at a nightclub on Instagram last week.
The league is also conducting its own investigation to determine if the 23-year-old broke protocol by bringing a firearm on the Grizzlies’ plane to Denver.
If so, Morant could face a lengthy 50-game suspension. The two-time All-Star, who was cleared of criminal charges, is currently averaging 27.1 points per game this season.
The Grizzlies are the third seed in the Western Conference with an overall record of 38-26, while the Warriors (34-32) sit in fifth place.
