Dramatic moment hero NYC cops rescue man who fell onto subway track – a month after they saved woman trapped under Brooklyn pier

Two NYPD officers pulled off some incredible rescues in the last three months of 2023.

Officers Desmond Mohan and Kenly Garcia were at Carroll Street Station in Brooklyn when they spotted a 50-year-old man stuck on the subway tracks on December 26.

Together they helped the man off the track and he received medical assistance from the ambulance service on the spot.

This heroic rescue came two months after Mohan and Garcia worked with the NYPD's Harbor Unit to rescue a 20-year-old woman trapped under a pier in Brooklyn.

The woman was helped into a boat and did not appear to sustain any life-threatening injuries.

The two men previously worked with the NYPD Harbor Unit to rescue a 20-year-old woman trapped under a pier in Brooklyn on October 3.

In their most recent rescue, Mohan and Garcia, partners and members of the 76th Precinct, successfully helped the man after he became dizzy and fell on the subway line.

The man repeatedly told officers he had fallen, adding: “It hurts really bad.”

The NYPD posted a message video X (formerly Twitter) showed Garcia jumping onto the rails and Mohan pulling them both up.

'We sprang into action and ran towards him. My partner jumped on the transit bed and lifted him by his legs,” Mohan said during an interview with Pixel 11.

While speaking to other officers, Garcia admitted that he had not thought about how high the tracks were and that he picked the man up by “grabbing his leg.”

Officers continued to talk near the ambulance and one said the situation would have been “much worse” if it had been rush hour.

The man had told Mohan and Garcia that he had fallen and that he must have slipped on the tracks. He also told officers it “hurts a lot” as they were rescuing him

Officers repeatedly told the woman they had her and told her to watch her head while they removed her from under the pear

Mohan and Garcia's other rescue began after they responded to a 911 call.

The woman was caught and clung to the pier while standing on a beam.

It's unclear how she got stuck under the pier, but she was considerate and did what the officers asked her to do.

Officers told the woman throughout the ordeal that they had her and to keep an eye on her head.

The officer's rescue efforts have not gone unnoticed on social media, with X users emphasizing that the police deserved promotions.
