Dramatic moment Florida cop shatters window to rescue one-year-old child from hot car

This is the dramatic moment a heroic Florida police officer shattered a car window and rescued a one-year-old child from the hot car.

On Monday around 5 p.m., officers with the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a locked car in a Walmart parking lot.

When authorities arrived, they saw a man and a woman standing outside a red Nissan Altima while the child was locked in the car.

The officer called the fire department for help when the adults told him the toddler had been in the car for ten minutes.

He quickly tried to get the trapped child out of the hot car by smashing the window and unlocking it from the inside.

It is unclear whether the adults are the children’s parents and whether they have been fined or fined. It is also unclear where exactly the incident took place.

DailyMail.com reached out to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office for more information.

Bodycam footage of the surprising incident begins with the officer pulling up behind the car shouting, “Sheriff’s office, did you all call?”

In the background you hear the adults say that they called and that there is a baby in the car.

The officer quickly gets out of his patrol car and asks if the car is running.

“Shut up, shut up,” the woman says to the man standing next to her and the car.

The responding officer says, “Whose car is it?”

“It’s mine,” the woman replies.

The officer says, “Okay, it’s not on?” as he pulls out tools, looks inside the car and speaks into his radio, asking how far the fire department is from the scene.

“I’ll break the window here in a moment if the FD isn’t close by,” the officer tells the woman.

When the officer arrived, he approached a man and a woman who appeared to be arguing. The woman said the child was locked in her car

While waiting for the fire brigade, an officer decided to break the window himself because the baby was stuck in the hot car

The woman then turns to the man behind her and says something unintelligible.

“I didn’t do anything,” the man tells her as the officer asks how long the child was in the car.

“About ten minutes,” the woman answers.

“Okay, I’ll break the window,” the officer says as other officers respond to the scene.

“No, no, no,” the woman tells the officer.

‘I have to, because she’s stuck there. I don’t know how far away the FD is, she’s been there for ten minutes,” the officer tells her.

The woman asks him if he has another tool, while the officer tells her he doesn’t before slamming the stick into the ground and causing it to collapse.

He then returns to this patrol car and says into his radio, “We have to break the window.”

The officer retrieves another tool from his car before returning to the locked vehicle and asking the other officer, “Have you done this before?”

Moments later, the officer hits the rear passenger window with a stick-like tool, breaking the glass.

He then steps back and hits it again as the other officer walks to the side of the car.

After the window was broken, the officer reached into the car to unlock the door. There were piles of laundry and scattered items in the car

Once he has removed all the glass from the window, the officer reaches in and unlocks the back door.

He reaches into the car, which is filled with mountains of laundry and other items, and presses the button to unlock the car as the child cries.

The officer closes the back seat door and opens the passenger side door as the woman picks up the baby from the driver’s seat.

The video ends with the officer saying, “Keep the FD on the route just to gain access to the child,” as the adults appear to talk to the other officer.

It is unclear how the child became locked in the car and why she was found in the driver’s seat.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office posted the bodycam footage X and said the child was “accidentally locked in a vehicle.”

“Following the rescue, the child was determined to be in good health despite heat exposure,” the post said.
