Drama at the Royal Perth Show as a monster truck demonstration goes horribly wrong in front of hundreds of revellers

Terrifying footage captured the moment the monster truck exhibition at the Royal Perth Show didnā€™t go to plan, with one vehicle breaking down and another crashing onto its roof.

A blue monster truck had been driven over ramps but failed to land on the final ramp and flipped over. It happened on the first night of the show, Saturday, in front of a packed house at the Claremont Showground.

As the car flipped over, we heard a young girl in the crowd say, ā€œI don’t think this should happen.ā€

The footage, which showed the event temporarily halted, was posted on Instagram with the cheeky caption: ‘You’re not allowed to park there, mate’.

But the monster truck misfortunes didn’t stop there.

A few seconds later, another truck was seen driving over a ramp.

But when the vehicle landed, sparks flew from the red vehicle, causing it to break down.

The truck had to be towed from the field as a shocked crowd, including young children, looked on.

Fortunately, all the occupants of the monster truck escaped unscathed, The clock tower times reported.

The three monster trucks in the show all hail from Western Australia and will be performing every night at the Perth Royal Show over the next week.

The Perth Royal Show takes place from 21st to 28th September.

It’s not the first time that a monster truck demonstration has ended in major drama.

In 2017, a woman was treated for shock after a 500-horsepower vehicle veered off course and knocked over a fence protecting crowds at the Penrith Showground in Sydney’s west.

Footage shows shocked onlookers running away on foot after narrowly avoiding being crushed.

Witnesses told Daily Mail Australia the victim was a woman wearing a leg brace who tried to escape from the oncoming vehicle.
