Rap star Drake has lost a massive seven-figure sum at the UFC after backing ousted middleweight champion Israel Adesanya on Saturday night to defeat Brazilian Alex Pereira at UFC 281.
Adesanya, 33, was the bookmakers’ favorite to take the fight and would have made Drake £2.4million if he could have found his way to victory in the Octagon.
Pereira took the win on the fifth and final round when he broke Adesanya’s standing guard with a left hook that sent the former champion to the canvas and the fight ended.

Drake – an old friend of Adesanya – is no stranger to placing outlandish bets having previously lost £537,000 on Barcelona in this season’s El Clasico against Real Madrid, and won over £3 million on English UFC stars Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann.
His latest bet won’t come as a surprise to Drake fans, but highlights the 36-year-old’s casual approach to gambling dazzling sums of money on sporting events.
The rapper’s latest bet on Adesanya saw him lose £1.4 million as the Nigerian-New Zealander suffered just a second professional defeat in his UFC career.
Drake previously won over £3 million betting on Pimblett and McCann to win their fights
He had previously been knocked out by Pereira in a kickboxing match and was caught in a similar attack during their recent encounter with Madison Square Garden.
