Drake takes over the Australian music charts – after placing an enormous bet on an upcoming MMA fight

Drake’s latest album For All The Dogs debuted at number one on the ARIA Albums Chart this week.

The achievement is the fifth time the Canadian rapper, 36, has won the number one spot in Australia.

Featuring a drawing of his six-year-old son Adonis on the album cover, For All The Dogs is Drake’s eighth studio album.

He previously reached number one in 2016 with Views, 2018 with Scorpion, 2020 with Dark Lane Demo Tapes and 2021 with Certified Lover Boi.

This latest album features collaborations with artists such as Bad Bunny, 21 Savage, SZA (notably on lead single Slime You Out, which peaked at #12 last month and rebounded from #65 to #13 this week), J. Cole and Lil Yachty.

Of the 28 songs on the album, an impressive 20 entered the top 100 of this week’s singles chart.

Eleven of them are in the top 50, with three songs securing spots in the top 10: First Person Shooter (with J. Cole) at #4, Virginia Beach at #9, and IDGAF (with Eat) at #6.

It comes after the rapper placed a huge bet that Logan Paul would win his head-to-head match against Dillon Dennis on Saturday.

Canadian rapper Drake has decided to put some of his money behind WWE star Logan Paul

The MMA fighter and YouTuber-turned-boxer co-headline Manchester’s highly-anticipated night of boxing alongside KSI and Tommy Fury.

Drake, who is no stranger to sports betting, believes Paul is good value to knock out his opponent who has mounted a stunning campaign of personal attacks ahead of the fight.

The “One Dance” star could earn around $1.3 million from the $850,000 bet if Danis suffers a spectacular defeat by his countryman.

Dillon Danis called the rapper ‘disrespectful’ and posted this picture of the pair

Fury, 30, who sparked further controversy on Thursday when he punched Paul in the face with a microphone at the latest press conference, was none too pleased with Drake’s choice of winner.

“850 on my head is disrespectful,” he wrote on X, earlier Twitter. He accompanied his post with a picture of himself and the former Degrassi cast member.

However, Paul may not be so grateful for the Canadian’s support given his record of tipping losing teams and athletes.

Earlier this year Drake bet $400,000 on Logan’s brother Jake to beat Tommy Fury before the Mancunian triumphed on points.

‘F***! This is Drake’s fault!’ The younger Paul joked in his post-match press conference after revealing his friend’s huge bet. ‘Drake bro why did you do this to me?’
