Drake shocked his fans Friday morning when he announced he would be taking a break from his music career.
The 36-year-old Canadian star wants time to rest after stomach problems.
The hitmaker – born Aubrey Drake Graham – shared the news on his SiriusXM show Table for one.
“I need to focus on my health first and foremost,” the star said is trying to get his gastrointestinal problem under control. “I have to focus on my health, and I have to do it right.
‘I have had the craziest problems with my stomach for years. I’m going to lock the studio door for a moment. Maybe a year or something…maybe a little longer.”
Drake has been very busy during his career, releasing nine albums in thirteen years.
Meanwhile his album For All The Dogs features a second collaboration with SZA.

Hours after unveiling the massive 23-song tracklist for his highly anticipated album and confirming its upcoming release date, the follow-up to 2022’s Honestly, Nevermind is here.
After slightly delaying the release from September 22, the Rich Flex rapper shared the song titles on social media, but no artists were present, although his recent hit collaboration with former flame SZA, ‘Slime You Out’, popped up.
However, the hallmarks became apparent when the album was released, with SZA lending her vocals to ‘Rich Baby Daddy’ alongside rapper Sexxy Red.
But there’s no sign of Nicki.
Drake had claimed that the ‘Super Freaky Girl’ hitmaker was featured on a track on the LP during his concert in Detroit in July.

He told the crowd, “I’m going to give you one thing away tonight because I have a lot of love for Detroit.
“So I have to tell you that me and Nicki Minaj made our first song together in a really long time. I have a lot of love for her.’
Nicki also told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, “I know the world is going to love the song, and that’s all I can say about that.”
She then joked, “But no, Zane, Barbz, make sure you let Drizzy Drake know that Pink Friday 2 is also coming out on November 17th. And we are waiting for his contribution.’
Other features include J. Cole in “First Person Shooter,” Bad Bunny in “Gently” and Lil Yachty in “Another Late Night.”

Drake’s ‘Her Loss’ collaborator 21 Savage also appears on the track ‘Calling For You’.
The record was released on Friday (06.10.23) at 6am EST, which is 11am UK time.
The superstar – who is credited with popularizing vocals and R&B sensibilities in hip-hop – jokingly apologized to fans who streamed the record in its entirety.
He wrote on Instagram alongside the tracklist: “FOR ALL THE DOGS OCTOBER 6 6AM ‘(Sorry to all my streamers).”
