Drake is accused of having ‘unhealthy obsession’ with ex-girlfriend Rihanna as he REFUSES to sing their 2016 duet Work – eight years after split

Drake has been accused of being unable to move on with ex-girlfriend Rihanna after refusing to perform their song at a recent concert.

The 37-year-old Grammy winner was recorded by a fan addressing an audience as his and the 35-year-old billionaire’s 2016 collaboration Work blared over the speakers.

He said into a microphone, “I’m not singing this song anymore. You can sing it to me.”

Rumor has it that Drake and Rihanna had an on-off romance that lasted for several years before ending for good sometime in 2016.

The jab is the latest from Drake, who also disparaged the Bajan singer on his October 2023 album For The Dogs.

In the concert footage, the Canadian-raised star was dressed in an all-white outfit as he stood on stage in a white box.

His dark, curly hair was braided into straight cornrows as he played with a black prop.

Fans and critics quickly took to social media app X to judge his behavior, calling it “obsessive” and “weird.”

One user simply said: ‘He’s so weird.’

Another added three clown emojis to the thread, and someone else added, “It says ‘I’m hurt,'” with crying laughing emoji.

One analysis noted: “He is desperate towards Rihanna and hateful towards Nicki. It seems none of the women at his level want him.”

There was also a reference to his six-year-old son Adonis, as one RiRi supporter mused: “He really thought Rihanna would want to be with him after he found out he was hiding an entire baby but still pursuing her.”

“He will never move on,” someone predicted.

There was also a fan online who happily accepted Drake’s invitation for the audience to sing the song instead of him.

“*Starts singing and dancing like EVERYONE is watching*,” the person wrote, adding, “Because he’s not marrying her, it’s no longer a bop. #ViveRihanna.”

Last fall, Drake appeared to reference Rihanna several times in the lyrics of the song Fear of Heights.

In one sentence he says, “Why do they make it sound like I’m still stuck with you? That can never be the case.’

He added, “Gyal can’t ruin me,” a reference to Rihanna’s Caribbean accent.

As the song progressed, he rapped “the sex was medium with you” – a reference to her song Sex With Me from the album Anti – and even seemed to target her current relationship with A$AP Rocky.

“Better he than me, better I am not,” the song continues. ‘Yes, that man, he is still with you. He can’t leave you. You’re all going on holiday, I bet it’s the Antilles.’

In May 2018, Rihanna told Vogue, “We don’t have a friendship right now, but we’re not enemies either.”

Rihanna has not publicly commented on Drake’s musical references.
