Drake LOSES another $250,000 after betting on Nate Diaz to beat Jake Paul…just months after losing $400,000 for supporting ‘The Problem Child’ against Tommy Fury
- Jake Paul defeated UFC legend Nate Diaz by unanimous decision in a boxing match
- ‘The Problem Child’ extended his career record to 7-1 with the win in Dallas
- The result cost rapper Drake $250,000 (£196,080) after supporting Diaz for the win
Jake Paul’s win over Nate Diaz has cost Drake $250,000 (£196,080) after the rapper bet on the former UFC legend to win the fight.
The pair faced each other in Dallas in a hard-fought encounter, with ‘The Problem Child’ emerging victorious by unanimous decision – 97-92 98-91 98-91.
Their fight lasted a whopping 10 rounds, Paul’s first time doing so, while also marking Diaz’s first bout in boxing after leaving the UFC in 2022 after 15 years.
The 38-year-old was knocked down by his younger opponent in the fifth round, but fought on towards the end despite two serious black eyes, although Paul was the clear winner.
And Drake – who has become infamous for his high-stakes sports betting – had shared a bet slip on his Instagram story on Saturday that showed he had risked $250,000 (£196,080) to win $1 million (£784,320) on Diaz beating Paul defeated.

“Jake is a dog but I can never bet against a Diaz brother, that’s how I was raised,” he captioned the photo.
However, the result is the last betting defeat for the Canadian in what has come to be known as the ‘Drake Curse’.
The rapper has made several high-profile bets in the past year, such as when he lost $1 million (£784,320) after betting on Argentina to beat France in normal time in the World Cup final.
Similarly, he lost $684,000 (£537,000) on Barcelona last October to beat Real Madrid at El Classico, while he lost $2m (£1.7m) after supporting UFC star Israel Adesanya to beat Brazilian Alex Pereira .
It is also the second time he has lost a large sum of money involving Paul, with Drake backing him to knock out Tommy Fury at their exhibition match in Saudi Arabia in February.
On that occasion, he bet $400,000 (£313,728) on the ex-YouTuber before being defeated by Fury via split decision.

Paul apologized after that fight for costing Drake a hefty sum, but jokingly blamed the rapper for his loss in the ring.
“F***, this is Drake’s fault,” he said said on February 26.
“$400,000 isn’t for him. He’s won a lot more money betting on me before, so he’s probably even now.”
Following the Diaz vs. Paul fight, the pair will face each other in a $10 million (£7.84 million) MMA rematch, having agreed shortly after the result was announced.
