Drake leaves fans wondering if he was joking as he and Birdman play tough with comedian Druski for joking about allegedly uncleared samples

Fans were left confused when Drake joked that comedian Drusky would “disappear” after mocking him.

Drake was recently accused of sampling songs from The Pet Shop Boys and Rie Rie on his new album without asking for their permission.

And Drusky capitalized on the allegations of the stolen sample by publishing a sketch making light of the situation. In it, he played a musician who goes berserk when he hears a Drake song strikingly similar to his own.

When Drusky posted the skit on Instagram, rapper Birdman jumped into his comments to warn him: ‘Bro you still playing with real gangsta SMFH.’

“Amazing fight you disappeared on Gladys,” Drake wrote, leaving fans scratching their heads as to whether he and Birdman were joking.

“It can’t be serious,” wrote one Twitter user, while another remarked: “Birdman better be kidding,” and a third mused: “He’s kidding a bit…”

Drake sent his worldwide fan base into a frenzy when he released his eighth studio album, For All The Dogs, on Friday.

The Pet Shop Boys took to Twitter after the album’s release to say that Drake had used the chorus of their 1984 song West End Girls.

They wrote: “Surprising to hear @Drake sing the ‘West End girls’ chorus on ‘All the Parties’ on his new album. No credit or permission required.’

Rapper Raj Raj also took to social media to express her frustration over Drake allegedly sampling her song Shake It to the Ground which she did with rapper Blackstar.

This wasn’t the first time Drake sampled Shake It to the Ground as the track was also sampled on his 2022 song Currents.

Rie Rie wrote: ‘REALLY @Drake MY VOCALS AGAIN? & NO CREDIT? I really want to be flattered but I feel like trolling ATP OMG …one of my favorite artists to do this. I don’t know how to feel anymore, but thanks for reminding me that my 15-year-old vocals are still legendary.’

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Drake for comment.

In response to the new album, Drake’s fans were quick to notice the absence of Nicki Minaj from any of the tracks – despite widespread claims that she would appear with her frequent collaborator.

In July, Drake told fans at a concert in Detroit, “I’m going to give one thing to you tonight because I have a lot of love for Detroit. I have to tell you that me and Nicki Minaj did our first song together in a very long time. I have a lot of love for her.’

While Nicki is nowhere to be seen, the 23-track album features Bad Bunny, 21 Savage, Teezo Touchdown, J. Cole, Eat, SZA, PARTINEXTDOOR, Chief Keef, Sekki Red, Lil Yachty and a special contribution from Drake’s son, Adonis.

While some claimed he was ‘lying’, others predicted the collaboration would in fact be on Nicki’s next album.
