Drake becomes latest victim of on-stage attack as he is hit by cell phone in Chicago

Drake’s It’s All a Blur tour kicked off Wednesday night in Chicago with a literal bang.

The Hotline Bling singer, 36, became the latest victim of bad crowd behavior when he was hit by a mobile phone thrown on stage.

The Toronto native – whose setlist leaked before the tour started – was singing a cover of Ginuwine’s So Anxious when the phone hit him in the wrist and fell to the floor.

Thankfully, the God’s Plan hitmaker was uninjured and went ahead with the first concert of his four-month tour.

Artists being pelted with phones and in the case of Harry Styles – a cone – has become more common lately.

Don’t Do This: Drake’s It’s All a Blue tour kicked off Wednesday night in Chicago with a literal bang. The Hotline Bling singer, 36, became the latest victim of bad crowd behavior when he was hit by a mobile phone thrown on stage

Drake didn’t stop singing when the phone hit him because he wasn’t hurt.

That was not the case recently when Bebe Rexha, 33, was hit in the face with a mobile phone thrown at her, leaving her with a black eye and requiring three stitches to repair the cut.

The fan who threw the phone at Rexha reportedly thought it would be funny. He was arrested and charged with assault.

Bebe performs again after the incident, but now she wears goggles on stage.

Last week, 29-year-old Kelsea Ballerini was also punched in the face during a show. A fan threw a bracelet on stage and hit her, causing the singer to interrupt her performance.

When she took the stage again she said: ‘If you ever feel unsafe, let someone close to you know. If someone is pushing too much or you just have that gut feeling, always flag it. Don’t throw things. You know?’

Afterward, the Miss Me More singer took to her Instagram Stories to share what happened, writing, “Hi. I’m fine. someone threw a bracelet, it hit me in the eye, and it scared me more than it hurt me.”

Singer Ava Max, 29, was stunned during a performance in Los Angeles when a stage crasher rushed onstage to punch her in the face.

“He hit me so hard he scratched the inside of my eye. He’s never coming to a show again,’ she said tweeted the morning after the performance. “Thanks to the fans for being spectacular tonight in LA!!”

In November, while Harry Styles, 29, was performing with As It Was in Los Angeles, he was hit in the face with a cone.

The Watermelon Sugar singer was blowing kisses to fans when his head suddenly swung back and grabbed his eye.

The series of disturbing incidents prompted 35-year-old Adele to speak out.

“Have you noticed how people are, forgetting f***ing show etiquette right now? People just throwing shit on stage, have you seen them?’ Adele asked the audience during her residency Weekends in Las Vegas with Adele.

‘I dare you the hell. Dare you throw something at me and I’ll fucking kill you,” she joked in the video captured by a fan.

Earlier this week, Charlie Puth, 31, also spoke out about the disastrous trend.

“This trend of throwing things at artists while on stage must end,” he continued Twitter on June 29.

“It’s so disrespectful and very dangerous. Please just enjoy the music, I beg you…”
