Dragon’s Dogma 2 has confirmed that it will have an unlimited frame rate

Capcom has confirmed that Dragon dogma 2 will have an unlimited frame rate at launch.

In a new after shared today (February 14) with X (formerly Twitter), Dragon dogma 2 director Hideaki Itsuno has announced that the game will be released with an unlimited framerate (via IGN). This means that the fantasy role-playing game will not have a locked 30fps framerate, which was a topic of conversation and concern within the fanbase before Itsuno’s official confirmation.

On the other hand, this varying frame rate could potentially cause problems as it is a feature that changes depending on what is on screen, be it action scenes or cutscenes. It is not yet possible to say how it will end Dragon dogma 2.

Itsuno hasn’t revealed which platforms this feature will be available on, but it seems likely that it will be present on PC. Although there is no official confirmation, the director has as an answer from a fan who asked if it would be like that “Also on consoles” so read there how you want.

Dragon dogma 2 launches on March 22 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and it’s one of our most anticipated games of 2024.

Itsuno also recently revealed that the upcoming sequel is “about four times the size” of the original world of Gransys and that there will be “more to experience than ever before.” As such, it seems like there’s plenty for fans of the series, as well as newcomers, to dive into.

In our September 2023 preview, staff writer Cat Bussell said the game “works with a seriously strong set of foundations” and “has a lot of heart” with a “strong emphasis on character customization.”
