Dragon Age: The Veilguard has no DLC, the team is focused on Mass Effect 5
After what seems to have been quite a successful launch Dragon Age: The Veil Guardwhich one records for the number of players broken for BioWare and EA games on Steam on launch day, fans could have reasonably expected to see more of the game’s colorful cast of characters. Every other Dragon Age game has had post-launch DLC content, often with major story implications such as Dragon Age: Inquisition‘s DLC Offenderwith the heel turn of the companion character Solas, making him the antagonist from the start Veil Guard. But in a surprising break with tradition Veil Guard‘, says creative director John Epler Rolling stone that there will be no DLC for the game.
Instead, the report reads, “the developers’ full attention has now shifted completely to the next Mass Effect as their current project.” Polygon recently had a chat with Epler and game director Corinne Busche, where Busche highlighted the team’s goals in this regard.
“The biggest thing for us is that it was really important that this game felt like the most complete story we were trying to tell,” Busche told Polygon. “So to be honest, we’re completely focused on that at the moment. A lot of effort has gone into making sure this is a complete adventure.”
That’s the story of Veil Guard is what it is, without addendum. And now that the team is turning around to help develop the next Mass Effect entry, it certainly seems like Dragon Age fans will have to wait before returning to Thedas. Let’s hope the wait isn’t as long as the ten years in between Inquisition And Veil Guard.
