Dr Karan Raj: I’m a doctor and this is why liking spicy food means you’re kinky in bed

I’m a doctor, which is why loving spicy food means being kinky in the bedroom: ‘It’s backed by science’

  • Dr. Karan Raj revealed why people who like spicy food are experimental in bed
  • Many are shocked by the revelation and cannot believe it is true

A doctor has revealed why he believes people who like spices in their food are more adventurous in the bedroom.

Dr. Karan Raj has answered an age-old question that many have speculated about: does the preference for spicy food really say anything about one’s preferences between the sheets?

The doctor explained that tongues cannot “taste” spices, but they can taste pain and temperature.

The NHS surgeon explained that a fondness for capsaicin – a chemical compound found in chilli peppers – indicates that someone enjoys pain to some degree.

“So if you like spicy food, it’s a weird kind of benign masochism,” he said.

Dr. Raj posted a now-viral video explaining his reasoning — and millions of people were shocked.

“If you like spicy food, you might be a little kinky,” he said.

Spicy is not a taste – your tongue can only taste sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami. But your tongue can detect pain and temperature.”

He explained that capsaicin, the chemical found in most spicy foods, binds to pain receptors on your tongue and causes a burning sensation.

Capsaicin is also a chemical irritant and neurotoxin to mammals, including humans.

“So if you like spicy food, you like pain,” the doctor said.

He added, “Capsaicin also desensitizes pain receptors, and so you want to eat foods that are spicier and spicier to feel the burn. It points to benign masochism.’

Masochism is the tendency to derive sexual satisfaction from one’s own pain.

Dr. Raj also revealed that capsaicin is used in some patients to treat chronic pain because it can desensitize pain receptors over time.

Many were shocked by Dr. Raj and shared their surprise.

“I like spicy food, but I didn’t need to know this,” said one woman.

“I feel exposed, everyone in my life knows how much I like spicy food,” added another.

“Well I hate to say this but this has been very accurate based on all my exes,” one woman wrote.

“Eat spicy food on the first date to see what your partner is into,” one man jokingly recommended.
