The neurosurgeon operated on the woman in 2019 with his daughter, who works as a nurse, recounting her mother’s deterioration and eventual death at an inquest in Sydney on Monday.

Dr. Teo faces a five-day disciplinary hearing at the Health Care Complaints Commission on allegations that he operated without medical supervision and the court is expected to conclude on Friday.

Dr. Charlie Teo allegedly told a nurse to put one of his patients in a chair and strap him down ‘if necessary,’ according to a medical hearing.

Dr. Teo faces a five-day disciplinary hearing on allegations that he operated without medical supervision and will come under scrutiny for a second day on Tuesday.

The initial witness told the hearing that his mother had developed paralysis and was left wheelchair bound by the devastating tumor and insisted on having the surgery.

She said that despite her reservations, her mother decided to continue because Dr. Teo convinced her that successful surgery on her tumor would give her “extra time to come home and spend time with her family and grandchildren.”

“No one wanted to operate on mom’s tumor because it was too risky,” he told the hearing.

She said that Dr. Teo was harsh in his manner after the surgery, ordering a nurse to “put her (the witness’s mother) on a bloody chair and tie the chair with sheets if necessary.”

The witness recounted a conversation in which she states that Dr. Teo said: ‘I have all the hope in the world… just give him a little time.’

He claimed the neurosurgeon had given the family “false hope”.

Dr. Teo is famous for performing neurosurgery on cancer patients with tumors that have been deemed ‘inoperable’ by other doctors.

He has been accused of charging exorbitant fees and offering false hope to some patients.

The NSW Medical Council banned the high-profile surgeon from operating without another doctor’s approval in August 2021.

The move came after an investigation by the state’s Health Care Complaints Commission.

Dr. Teo has been prohibited from operating unless a second doctor is satisfied that his patients are aware of the risks and are financially informed of their decision.

Dr. Teo has consistently denied wrongdoing.

It’s been a long road. It is sad that we are in this situation,’ he said Monday.

I would rather be trading on Monday than do this.

‘I am very sorry for all those patients suffering from brain cancer and brain tumors.

The truth is between what you have heard and what I am going to say.

“This has taken its toll on him,” he said.

“But look at how many people are here for him, he’s obviously a well-respected lifeguard.”

Mundine also referred to the accumulated criticism of the neurosurgeon.

“There are going to be people who hate it… it’s a 50/50 game, you’re going to win some, you’re going to lose some,” he told Newscorp.

‘But I `m here. If you want to kick it, come kick me too.
