Dr. Anthony Fauci gets praised as ‘classy’ by fawning ‘The View’ host Whoopi Goldberg
Dr. Anthony Fauci received effusive praise from the hosts of ABC’s “The View” Thursday as he made the rounds to promote his new book.
Host Whoopi Goldberg raved about Fauci, the former White House chief medical adviser, calling him “one of the classiest” people in Washington, D.C.
“Thank you for coming on the show and everything, everything you’ve done since the beginning,” Goldberg said to a beaming and smiling Fauci, who was cheered by the audience. ‘It’s extraordinary and you’re no worse for the wear, you look good.’
Goldberg continued, “You are probably one of the most stylish people I have ever seen walking around Washington, DC.”
“I just want to raise my dreads to you,” Goldberg said as he greeted her hair.
The groveling over Fauci comes as the former health official faced criticism for his handling of the COVID pandemic. He recently admitted that there is no clear science behind keeping children six feet apart and masking them, sparking outrage.
ABC’s ‘The View’ host Whoopi Goldberg couldn’t contain her excitement when Dr. Anthony Fauci joined the show to promote his new book. She called him “one of the most stylish people” to ever roam the streets of Washington DC
Fauci released a book this week called “On Call: A Doctor’s Journey in Public Service,” which chronicles his five decades as a government health official.
In it, he discusses his navigation through the AIDS pandemic and later COVID. It also reveals fiery, f-bomb-filled conversations with former President Donald Trump and the death threats he has faced as a result of his work.
Earlier this month, Fauci testified before a House committee investigating the origins of COVID that, despite coldly throwing the theory out in the past, he is “open minded” about the possibility that the virus was created in a laboratory in Wuhan has begun.
Republicans later said he lied to the committee about his openness to the lab leak hypothesis, and said he could be accused of lying.
“If trying to save people’s lives is a crime, then I’m guilty,” he told the enamored View hosts when asked about Republicans who say he could face criminal charges.
Fauci smiled as the TV hosts praised him for his efforts during the COVID pandemic
During the appearance, the hosts mentioned how Republicans want to file charges against Fauci, to which he responded, “What are the charges? That you saved millions of lives with the vaccine’
“What are the charges?” he said. “That you saved millions of lives with the vaccine you helped develop or that you got people to do things that were interventions that made them safer against a deadly pandemic that killed 1.2 million people?”
“I honestly don’t know what they’re talking about,” Fauci said.
After his confirmation hearing in early June, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer accused the doctor of lying about his role in setting COVID masking and distancing rules.
“Everyone knows that Dr. Fauci was the main instigator of the waiver,” Comer charged.
He also said that he ‘likes the idea’ that Fauci could face criminal charges his behavior during COVID and for lying to Congress.
“I don’t know if I said he should be arrested, but I like the idea,” Comer told Fox Business’ Stuart Varney earlier this month. “At the end of the day, it’s a crime to lie to Congress.”
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, later requested that Fauci attend a transcribed interview to question him about his claim that he supported the lab leak theory.
Jordan claims Fauci’s comments are absolutely “false.”
Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, has said Fauci lied to Congress when he said he was open to COVID starting in a lab in Wuhan
Rep. House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., has also said Fauci lied under oath, and that he “likes the idea” of arresting the doctors
The Republican accusations from Ohio that are “false on their face” because of the “pressure” Fauci and the Biden administration have put on social media companies to suppress lab leak posts, which has led to the censoring of online communications about COVID.
Jordan further claims that Fauci “sidelined” former Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director Robert Redfield in an attempt to silence his view that COVID “came from a Wuhan lab.”
These specific allegations never came up during Fauci’s TV appearance on Thursday.
