Anthony Fauci has finally agreed to testify in Congress about his involvement in publicly covering up the origins of Covid.
The former White House doctor will be questioned about his former department’s funding of dangerous experiments in Wuhan and the stark difference between his public and private comments on the possibility that Covid escaped from the lab he funded.
He will speak before the House of Representatives in January, which will be the first time he has testified under oath since his infamous showdown before the Senate in July 2021.
Since then, leaked emails show that Fauci was aware that virus manipulation research was being conducted in Wuhan in the lead-up to the pandemic.
Senator Rand Paul got into a heated argument with Dr. Anthony Fauci during a hearing in July 2021, when he again pressed the nation’s top immunologist about the US-funded function study in Wuhan. Fauci responded: ‘You don’t know what you’re talking about’
Fauci’s testimony begins with two days of transcribed interviews behind closed doors on January 8 and 9, seven hours a day. A public hearing will then take place, which is expected to be highly controversial.
The former White House medical adviser has been criticized for downplaying the possibility that the virus leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology and US ties to research there.
Representative Wenstrup, chairman of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, previously said the investigation into the origins of Covid “must start with where and how this virus came about so that we can try to predict, prepare or prevent it from happening again.’
Earlier this year, the Department of Energy concluded with “low confidence” that the pandemic “probably” stemmed from a laboratory leak in Wuhan, according to a classified report shared with those on the House and Senate intelligence committees.
A month later, Christopher Wray, the FBI director, said the FBI believed Covid likely emerged from a “potential laboratory incident” in Wuhan.
Dr. Kristian Andersen, a Danish evolutionary biologist, co-authored a now infamous research paper published in March 2020 that denounced the idea of laboratory leaks as a conspiracy theory and xenophobic.
The infamous proximate origins article was written partly at the behest of Dr. Anthony Fauci, then head of the US National Research Agency who had funded risky virus research on Covid relatives in the Wuhan laboratory, partly at the expense of the US taxpayer.
But emails February 1, 2020 revealed that Fauci acknowledged that “Wuhan University scientists are known to have been working on gain-of-function experiments to determine that molecular mechanisms associated with bat viruses adapt to human infections, and that the outbreak originated in Wuhan.’
On July 13, 2023, the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic released the emails that Dr. Fauci had sent about a teleconference on the origins of Covid attended by Dr. Fauci, Dr. Francis Collins, former director of the National Human Genome Research Institute, and others. researchers.
Dr. Anthony Fauci (talking to DailyMail.com in July) still believed Covid arose naturally despite mounting circumstantial evidence of a laboratory accident
Emails dated February 1, 2020 show that Fauci acknowledged that “Wuhan University scientists are known to have been working on gain-of-function experiments to determine that molecular mechanisms associated with bat viruses adapt to human infections, and that the outbreak originated in Wuhan’
In one email, Dr. Fauci admitted that scientists had concerns that Covid might have been genetically engineered and that these were exacerbated by the fact that gain-of-function research was taking place in Wuhan before the pandemic.
Gain-of-function research is medical research that genetically alters a virus to make it more deadly or contagious, in an effort to pre-empt the natural mutations that can occur.
At the July hearing, “Fauci stated that the NIH has never funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” Paul said in the committee room.
“And yet the gain-of-function research was done entirely at the Wuhan Institute by Doctor Shi (Zhengli) and funded by the NIH,” he said.
Paul then cited the article by WIV scientists entitled ‘Discovery of a rich gene pool of SARS-related coronaviruses from bats provides new insights into the origins of the SARS coronavirus’.
The article specifically talks about the ongoing efforts to produce a ‘chimeric’ coronavirus, meaning one that has been altered by humans – also known as ‘gain of function’.
Fauci told DailyMail.com in July that he believed natural origins were still the most likely explanation, but left the door open and said we would probably never know how Covid emerged.
Senator Rand Paul, a Republican from Kentucky, accused Dr. Fauci previously accused of lying under oath about his knowledge of dangerous virus research in China.
Dr. Fauci, 82, testified before a Senate committee in 2021 that his former department “never funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and does not now.”
Dr. Fauci was the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) until the end of 2022 and was responsible for signing off on research grants.
Senators are also demanding answers about a laboratory in Montana where U.S. taxpayer money was used to manipulate coronaviruses before the pandemic.
DailyMail.com last month revealed how government-sponsored researchers infected bats with a ‘SARS-like’ virus in 2018 as part of a collaboration with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which is at the center of the Covid cover-up scandal.
Republican Senators Joni Ernst of Iowa and Eric Schmitt of Missouri will send a letter today to the National Institutes of Health demanding they “learn more about potentially risky research” being conducted at Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML).
The senators’ letter, seen by DailyMail.com, said: ‘There is no room for error and no excuse for carelessness as even a minor accident can be catastrophic when dealing with dangerous biological agents, especially when it comes to pandemic agents .’
The letter included ten questions, including how many live bats are currently housed in the laboratory and future planned experiments.
