Dr Alex George sends well wishes to Kate Middleton after cancer diagnosis announcement: ‘She left a real impression on me when we met’
Dr. Alex George has sent his well wishes to Kate Middleton after she announced her cancer diagnosis on Friday.
The Princess of Wales, 42, announced her diagnosis in a video message explaining that the cancer was discovered after her abdominal surgery in January.
Former Love Island star Alex, 33, has become a mental health advocate since the show and previously met Kate on World Mental Health Day.
In a statement on Instagram, he said: ‘The Princess of Wales left a real impression on me when we met for World Mental Health Day.
‘I’ve met so many people over the years who talk about mental health, I’ve come to learn who talks the talk and who walks the talk. The princess is a blunter. A very tasty egg.’

Referring to social media speculation about Kate’s health in recent weeks, Alex said he hoped the princess’ statement would help society “learn and grow.”
He wrote: ‘It is quite shocking to see the number of breaches that have occurred in recent weeks and months. You can only imagine the effect this has on this person’s mental health.
“I hope today’s announcement and HRH’s courageous message is a lesson learned. We need to learn and grow as a society.
“As I am sure you know, I wish the Princess a good and full recovery from her cancer and I hope that when HRH is ready, she will be on the front lines with us and will once again fight for mental health and our young people.
“Remember, be kind. You never know what challenges someone will face, or what struggles they will try to overcome. You have this, Your Royal Highness.”
The panel was part of a day of workshops and discussions to mark World Mental Health Day, as the royal couple launched the next phase of their campaign to support the country’s mental health.
Dr. Alex is a mental health advocate following the death of his 19-year-old brother Llyr in July 2020.
Announcing her diagnosis, the Princess said: ‘The operation was successful, but tests after the operation revealed that cancer was present.
Referring to social media speculation about Kate’s health in recent weeks, Alex said he hoped the princess’ statement would help society “learn and grow.”

Dr. Alex is a mental health advocate following the death of his 19-year-old brother Llyr in July 2020
‘You can imagine that this took time. It took me time to recover from major surgery before I could start my treatment.
‘But most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that suits them and to reassure them that I will be fine.’
Kensington Palace has said it will not share details about what type of cancer the princess has, or what stage of cancer it is, and has asked people not to speculate.
The King – who is currently undergoing cancer treatment himself – and the Queen were both informed of the news.
In a statement on Friday, His Majesty said he is “so proud of Catherine for her courage to speak as she did” and that he remains “in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law.”
The king and queen said they “will continue to offer their love and support to the entire family during this difficult time.”
