A man is reprimanded for expressing a “double standard” that exists in age-gap relationships.
Jimmy, from the US, runs a popular dating advice channel where he recently shamed people for calling men ‘creepy and immature’ for wanting to date younger women.
Another man, Evan, was quick to point out his mistake, claiming that men pursue younger women for the “wrong reasons,” such as wanting someone they think is “pure” and easier to manipulate.
He also said that the main reason women prefer older men is their emotional maturity and stability.
“The reason why one is weird and the other isn’t is because they’re completely different — and that’s true of almost every dating double standard,” Evan said.

“This really blows my mind,” Jimmy said in a video.
He then went on to describe several behaviors that he considered “double-sized” — including women who don’t want short men is a “preference,” but a man who doesn’t want an overweight woman is an “asshole who isn’t focused on the right stuff’.
“If a girl wants a boy who is older, that’s a preference,” he said.
“But if a boy wants a younger girl, that’s creepy and immature!”
Evan chimed in with reasons why it was unacceptable for men to go after young women.
“Why do you think some women prefer older people?” he asked.
“Usually a woman will say it’s because she wants someone mature, emotionally intelligent, financially secure and stable.”

“Men who prefer younger women can’t talk to women their own age, want someone they think is more ‘pure’ and more naive, easier to manipulate, and who usually has some weird sexual attraction to older ones.” men.’
Evan explained, “The reason there isn’t a double standard is because this isn’t the same thing.”
“If a man said he prefers older women because of their emotional intelligence and maturity, no one would bat an eye.”
The man then eschewed age preferences as a concept.
“All age preferences are stupid – you have to treat people as individuals and talk to people at the same stage of life as you.”
Many agreed with Evans’ point of view and shared their own experiences.
“A former male colleague told me, after we got to know each other, that he prefers younger women ‘because they are easier to train,'” said one woman.
“There’s also a huge difference with the age ranges…a woman who’s 25 going after a 30-year-old isn’t weird, but a man in his 40s lusting after girls who are 18 or 19 should be illegal. ‘
“It’s a problem when men go after girls at vulnerable ages.”
But others defended their relationships with age gaps.
“My husband is 20 years older than me, we met when I was in college, and we’re happier than ever.”
“Men want younger women because they’re fertile and there’s nothing wrong with that.”
“Young women are more attractive because they don’t complain and have more energy, so that makes sense.”
