Jackass row rocks Sydney’s ritzy Double Bay – as furious local leaves a VERY rude message on parked car’s windscreen
- Resident begs local motorist to stop parking ‘like crazy’
- Follows the incident where the car was parked in the driveway
A row has broken out in one of the country’s poshest neighborhoods over an ‘idiotic’ parking maneuver that saw an outraged local stick an angry message on a driver’s car.
The angry blast was written in large letters on two strips of tape and stuck in a vicious fury to the vehicle’s windshield above where the white Honda Civic was parked.
The outburst came after locals believed the driver had taken up enough space for two cars along William St in Sydney’s upscale Double Bay on Tuesday afternoon.
As a final frustration, the car’s windshield wipers were also pulled up.
One of the notes asked the driver to “please don’t park like crazy,” while the other pointed out that the vehicle was actually taking up “parking spaces for two cars.”
It appears the cause was that the Honda sedan parked too far from the nearest driveway entrance, reducing the available parking spaces between the driveways to just one instead of two.
The row unfolded in one of the quieter parts of Sydney’s famous eastern suburbs, far from the local luxury shops, and mostly used only by residents.
The incident could make for an awkward encounter between neighbors as a Double Bay resident’s parking permit on the car’s windshield indicated the driver likely lives in the area.

It comes after fierce debate erupted earlier this year over a careless driver who parked too close to a suburban driveway and blocked cars from getting in and out.
A woman visiting her relative’s home in Newcastle, New South Wales, in May was instead forced to move her 4WD across the front garden.
The visitor slowly maneuvered her 4WD vehicle around the cramped yard, prompting a neighbor watching to leave a handwritten note under the windshield wipers of the parked car.
Wanting to let the car’s owner know what inconvenience he had caused, the passerby didn’t hold back.
‘On your next visit, please do not park in the driveway! It’s just damn rude!,” the note said.
Drivers joked online that they wouldn’t have left a “friendly” note.
“It’s a fucking joke,” one person wrote.
Despite the obvious inconvenience of being trapped when someone parks across a driveway, it can also prevent people from receiving emergency care because it blocks access for ambulances.
It is also seen as a safety risk for pedestrians who struggle to access a site, and it can also limit visibility for road users to see who is using the footpath.

The car (pictured) was almost completely parked in a driveway in Newcastle, NSW, forcing a 4WD visiting their elderly relative to maneuver through the tight space in the front garden.
In NSW it is illegal for motorists to stop in a driveway unless they are picking up or dropping off passengers.
The driver must remain in the vehicle and must continue driving within two minutes.
Under state law, motorists who park in a driveway face a $302 fine for the offence, while Queenslanders could face a $309 fine.
For safety reasons, it is also illegal to park in your own driveway.
In 2016, a Sydney man who lived opposite a school was fined after parking in his driveway to prevent other cars from blocking his path during school pick-up and drop-off.
