DoorDash driver is fired after camera captures horrific slur against black customer
- The driver dropped the bag on the porch before saying something awful
- A viral video of the incident prompted the company to act quickly
The moment a former DoorDash employee used the N-word while delivering an order to a Black woman’s porch was captured on video.
The video, which was uploaded late last week by TikTok user Christina Derrica, has been viewed more than 3.2 million times.
An unknown man approaches the door of a Nashville home and says, so loudly that the sound is clearly captured by the Ring camera, “Here’s your dinner n*****.”
The delivery person appears to look inside the bag before reversing and taking a photo of the delivery to confirm it has been delivered.
The man once again brutally drops his racist comments and says, “Chow down n*****,” as he walks away.

“Didn’t he see my Ring camera?” Derrica wrote in the caption of the video she shared.
She also mentioned the company in her post, adding, “Fire him IMMEDIATELY, HELLO @DoorDash.”
In a subsequent letter that the company also posted to Derrica on her TikTok, DoorDash confirmed that the driver had been fired and apologized for the incident.
“Please know that the type of behavior you describe has no place on the DoorDash platform or anywhere else, and is a violation of our security policies.
“I want to assure you that we have investigated this incident and have taken appropriate action by removing this dasher from the platform.”
The driver has not been identified or located. It remains unclear what prompted his response, or whether he was simply expressing racist feelings he harbored.
In response to a question from the Black star from Atlantareporting on the incident, the company confirmed that the employee had been fired, adding: “There is no place for hate on the platform.”
“We are shocked and appalled by this incident,” a spokesperson said via email. “Make no mistake: we have a zero-tolerance policy toward racism. This incident violates both our policies and what we believe in.
“We have deactivated this Dasher account and contacted the customer.”
Viewers on social media were shocked and disheartened by the content of the video.
‘I did not expect that. The sob that just came out of me,” one TikTok viewer wrote.
“And this is why I never get a door dash. I’m sorry, but I just don’t trust random people bringing me food in their car. No,” wrote another.
Some said they hoped the customer threw out the entire order because “he looks like the type to spit in someone’s food.”
Others said they would have tried to confront the man to see if he had the nerve to use the slur during a face-to-face interaction.
