Doonside school stabbing: Shock update in fatal school attack that left one teen dead and another seriously injured

A boy has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of another boy at a school in Sydney’s west.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash in Power St, Doonside, at around 3.40pm on Friday, following reports that two teenagers had been stabbed.

Before police could arrive, two teenagers, aged 18 and 19, arrived at Blacktown police station with stab wounds.

The 18-year-old died at the scene, NSW Police said in a statement.

It is believed the altercation was the result of tensions between rival postcodes involving the RFA (Ready For Anything) and 67 gangs

The other teenager was taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested nearby and taken to Mount Druitt Police Station.

A NSW Police spokesperson said the boy had been charged with murder and refused bail to appear before a children’s court on Saturday.

Officers from Blacktown PAC, with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, have launched an investigation into the incident led by Strike Force Cooey.

As the investigation continues, a school bus with its hazard lights flashing was seen locked at a bus stop in an area cordoned off by police. Witnesses reported seeing teenagers fighting on the bus just before the stabbing.

A resident who lives nearby said they saw “a youth jumping the fence and several others running through adjacent backyards.”

It is believed the altercation was the result of tensions between rival postcodes involving the RFA (Ready For Anything) and 67 gangs.

Teenagers were seen leaving the scene throwing up gang signs, The Daily Telegraph reported.

The RFA gang is from Mount Druitt, while the 67 group, which stands for postcode 2767, is from Doonside.
