Don’t tell the Hot Priest! Phoebe Waller-Bridge is seen sporting a diamond ring on her wedding finger while out for lunch with fashion designer Stella McCartney

As the free-spirited singleton in Fleabag, she was constantly on a chaotic hunt for love.

But it seems Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s life won’t imitate her art. The British actress and screenwriter, 38, was spotted having lunch with fashion designer Stella McCartney – and brandishing a huge diamond ring on her wedding finger.

The meeting between the pair – who were previously not known to be friends – has led some to speculate that she may have some good news to share.

Ms Waller-Bridge has been in a relationship with Irish-English playwright Martin McDonagh since 2017.

Ms McCartney’s fashion house makes wedding dresses – perhaps most notably the chic second dress the Duchess of Sussex wore to her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.

The meeting between Waller-Bridge and McCartney, whose fashion house designs wedding dresses, has led some to speculate that she may have good news to share.

In the television series Fleabag, Mrs. Waller-Bridge’s character falls for the Hot Priest (played by Andrew Scott).

She and Ms McCartney, 51, appeared to be in a festive mood at the champagne meal in London last week.

A spokeswoman for Ms. Waller-Bridge did not respond when asked whether the star was engaged.

But it would certainly be a signal that she has moved on after her divorce from her first husband, Irish author and documentary maker Conor Woodman, 49, was finalized last year.

The couple was married for three years from 2014 to 2017.

She has until recently remained tight-lipped about her latest relationship with Mr McDonagh, who at 53 is 15 years her senior.

They were first spotted together at a screening of McDonagh’s Oscar-winning film Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri in 2017.

However, she recently opened up about their relationship for the first time, describing him as “a genius.”

Asked whether they read each other’s work, Ms Waller-Bridge, who helped polish the script for the latest Bond film, No Time To Die, said: ‘We don’t really share anything beforehand. . . I just really like him.

“So if you show someone something, and you like them, it can become a blur.”

Admiring his work long before she met him, she admitted that he has had a huge influence on her.

“It’s very helpful to be with someone who I think is a genius, it just improves your game,” she said.

‘I always wanted Martin McDonagh to regard my work as good, whether I was with him or not. I’ll find out now, one way or another.’
