‘Don’t talk shit!’: Neymar hits back at critics of ex-Brazil boss Tite after World Cup knockout by Croatia… after his ex-agent claimed the Seleção boss ‘spent years misleading the people’

Brazilian star Neymar has hit back at criticism of national team boss Tite after his former agent claimed the 61-year-old “was never a football manager”.

The Selecao were knocked out of the World Cup quarter-finals after a penalty shootout loss against Croatia, which then saw Tite step down after six years in charge.

The manager drew harsh criticism after his removal, including from Neymar’s former agent Wagner Ribeiro, but the PSG star has jumped to his former manager’s defense.

Neymar has responded to the critics of the ex-coach of Brazil Tite through a comment on social networks.

Wagner Ribeiro (pictured), Neymar’s former agent, targeted Brazilian coach Tite after the game.

Ribeiro handled Neymar’s business affairs when the striker joined Barcelona from Santos in 2013, but he does not currently manage the winger.

In a post on Instagram, Ribeiro shared a photo of Tite with the caption: ‘This man was never a soccer coach. He spent years fooling people, losing 2 cups. He alone is fit to be the valedictorian of the graduating class.

Neymar was quick to respond to his former agent, commenting on the post: “Don’t talk shit about Wagner!”

The comment came just hours after Brazil were knocked out of the World Cup, after Rodrygo and Marquinhos saw penalties saved in the shootout against Croatia.

Neymar thought he had saved the day for his team after scoring in the 105th minute of the game, only to see his effort equalized by Bruno Petkovic’s effort.

It turned out to be an emotional moment for Neymar, who was crying on the pitch and refused to confirm his international future after the match.

Neymar told reporters: ‘Honestly, I don’t know. I think talking now is bad because of the heat of the moment. Maybe I’m not thinking clearly.

‘To say this is the end would be rushing, but I don’t guarantee anything either. Let’s see what happens in the future.

A heartbreaking clip emerged after the match showing Neymar crying after his team was knocked out of the World Cup.
