Don’t opt-in to Amazon’s ‘new return policy,’ warns woman: ‘It’s bananas’

A woman is warning Amazon users not to update their accounts due to a so-called ‘new return policy’ that she calls ‘banana.’

Tatianna Diaz took over TikTok to sound the warning words, explaining how her account presented her with a list of precautions before she reached the returns page.

A screenshot of the return policy message appears on the screen, showing that she was told she could get a free refill if she requested a return.

Additionally, Diaz was told she could only receive a partial refund, or no compensation at all.

She goes on to say that she often buys items in bulk from the e-commerce site – possibly why she received the warning. It remains unclear whether the warning was issued in response to irregular activity on her account.

Tatianna Diaz posted a warning on TikTok, explaining how her account gave her a list of precautions before she reached the returns page.

“Amazon’s new return policy is ridiculous,” she begins, sitting in her car next to a pillow she wanted to return.

“I don’t know if I’m the only one who got it because my mom said she hasn’t gotten this update on her device yet. So if you haven’t updated Amazon yet, don’t.”

The former Ms. Florida America continues, “If you want to come back now, you literally have to agree to all of these things before you can even go through the repatriation process.”

The warning she received appears below her as she speaks and reads out the sudden provisions.

“You literally have to agree that you may be charged a reimportation fee, get a partial refund, or not get a refund at all after you’ve already returned the product,” she says.

“I often order things for a project, or I order a bunch of pillowcases and see which ones work best with my stuff. The ones I don’t like, I send back,” she explains.

‘So it’s not like I bring back more than the average person, I don’t feel like that.

“If it turns out to be damaged, I’ll make a report and send it back – you know, if that’s how it got,” she claims.

A screenshot of the return policy message she was presented with appears on the screen, showing how she was told she could be charged for a free refill if she requested a return.

‘But I feel like my mom and I are returning the same amount of stuff and she doesn’t have this with her.

“So if there is an update, don’t do it,” she concludes.

‘Anyway, I have to return this pillow, so it’s a gamble: hopefully I get my money back.’

What she failed to highlight is the warning in the message she received, which clearly states that the refund customers receive – if any – “will be based on the condition of the item at the time it is shipped.” [they] ‘receive it.’

If the inspection passes, all items shipped through Amazon.com, including the Amazon Warehouse, can be returned within 30 days.

Some third-party sellers and perishable products are not covered by the guidelines, which have been in place for years.

Still, Diaz stated in her video, “I’m just going to stop buying stuff on Amazon and just buy it in store.

“Amazon has a lot of good stuff,” she admits.

“But if they’re going to treat me like this…” The video ends there.

DailyMail.com has contacted Amazon for clarification on their policy.
