Don’t make my mistake. If you find a good Black Friday deal, buy it now or you’ll be sorry
Remember the pre-internet Black Friday sales, when anxious shoppers nearly trampled each other to get their hands on the latest Furbee or Nintendo Wii? I think they were on to something. “While supplies last” isn’t just a cliché; it’s a fact of life in the online Black Friday Deals marketplace, and you’d do well to heed it and take action while the deals are hot.
Do not you believe me? Please learn from my mistake.
Without giving too much away, I went through some early Black Friday deals for possible gifts for my wife. There are many options: clothing, jewelry and of course technology.
Ny Breaking in particular has done a great job of scouring the internet for the best deals from top retailers like Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart and, on the other side of the world, Curry’s and John Lewis. In most of our posts about these deals, we remind consumers to act now, as prices are unlikely to drop any lower (the official Black Friday, November 24, is basically just hours away) and inventories may be limited.
To be honest, I read some of that with a wry grin on my face, thinking, “Oh yeah, the supply of something that Samsung, Apple, Google, Amazon or some other tech giant produces in the millions is going to be limited.” are. Right.”
It’s for that reason that when I found the perfect tech gift for my wife, I just put it in my Amazon cart and didn’t buy it. Maybe it was because it wasn’t quite perfect. I also wondered if I would see another price drop. In my overconfidence, I assumed I had all the time in the world to make a decision.
Except I didn’t.
When I returned to my Amazon shopping cart a day or so later, I noticed it was empty. “That’s strange,” I thought, “since when does Amazon empty a cart?”
Amazon did this because, as it stated in red on my defunct cart selection, “This item is no longer available from the seller you selected.”
In other words, the deal fell through because it sold out. Of course it was sold out. This was a great deal, and other, smarter shoppers didn’t hesitate and let the gift languish in their carts. Me? I did the equivalent of picking up ripe bananas at the local grocery store, dropping them in my cart, and then returning to the store with the cart a week later, wondering why the clerk threw away the rotten bananas I never bought .
Not every piece of equipment or gadget will be in short supply. For example, the Black Friday streaming service deals don’t run out, but most deals are for a very limited time.
And when we tell you this is the lowest price a product has ever had, that should mean something to you. Rock bottom means rock bottom. Don’t keep waiting for another price drop that will never come.
If you think of Black Friday as some kind of gimmick, where retailers and companies don’t offer the best deals and give you another chance at a better price in mid-December, you’re wrong.
They all want to sell as much as possible right now, and their goal is to clear the shelves and sell out the inventory. That’s why the prices are so good.
My advice to you is simple. Don’t be like me. If you see a good deal, put it in your shopping cart and go straight to checkout. Don’t mention it.
