Every Thursday on Polygon we have an open thread dedicated to helping you, our dear readers, find the perfect watch for this weekend. Looking for a science fiction film that makes you think about the wonders (or horrors) of the world? We got you. Want to refresh your world cinema? How about some comfort food? We have you there too.
From 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM EST, I’ll be answering your questions and submitting requests about what to watch this weekend in the comments section below.
A little about me, your curator for this week: I’m Pete Volk, our senior curatorial editor. I love movies of all shapes and sizes, but my main areas of interest are action movies (especially martial arts), classic Hollywood comedies (shout out to the GOAT, Ernst Lubitsch), and keeping up with new releases from around the world (I’ve been in total 154 watched films from 2023 and 13 from 2024 so far).
I looked last week Code 8 Part II And Poor thingsand I looked again The animal kingdom (which comes out this weekend in the US and I highly recommend it!). I also continued to follow it Abbott Elementary, ShogunAnd Wonderful in the dungeon.
