A man’s body discovered on a suburban Melbourne street is believed to be linked to a home invasion just blocks away.
The victim, who has yet to be formally identified, was found in Eildon St in Doncaster, Melbourne’s north-east, about 5.30am and died at the scene.
Homicide squad detectives have not revealed how the man died and have launched an investigation into the incident, with no arrests made.
Inspector Carrie Kohler gave an update to the media on Saturday, saying police believe the man was the victim of an aggravated burglary earlier that morning.
“It is understood this man was the victim of an aggravated burglary in Sargent St, Doncaster before he was located,” she said.
