Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai, 17, poses on Miami Beach to celebrate her college golf commitment: ‘It’s all about the U’

Kai Trump celebrates her college choice with a photo of herself on Miami Beach flashing the University of Miami’s famous “U” hand gesture.

It was only a few days ago that the 17-year-old golfer announced on Instagram her verbal commitment to play for the Miami team in two years. It is not yet clear whether she will receive an athletic scholarship or not.

She posted the photo to her Instagram story with the caption, β€œIt’s all about the U,” a university slogan.

Kai, the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa, is about to enter her third year at the prestigious Benjamin School in Florida. But that hasn’t stopped the scratch golfer from planning her next steps.

“I want to thank my mom, Vanessa, and my dad, Don, for supporting me throughout my journey. I also want to thank my amazing team for getting me to this point,” she wrote in her announcement post alongside several photos of her on campus in Miami.

The teenager has long shared her grandfather’s passion for the sport and is tipped to be the most successful golfer of the Trump dynasty, an ambition she now looks set to fulfil.

Kai, who dedicates her Instagram and YouTube accounts entirely to the sport, has won the women’s club championship at her grandfather’s golf course in Palm Beach, Florida, and has played with some of the biggest stars in the sport.

And she credited the former president for helping her achieve her college goals.

β€œI would like to thank my grandfather for the wonderful courses he gave me and the tremendous support he gave me,” she added.

“I also want to thank my entire family for always encouraging and pushing me to be the best person I can be. I want to thank my friends for always cheering me on,” she continued.

‘Last but not least I would like to thank Coach Janice and Coach Jim for this opportunity. I am super excited to be a cane and represent the University of Miami. Gooo Canes!’

Kai, who rose to popularity when she stole the show at the Republican Party Convention, previously admitted that her 78-year-old grandfather still beats her.

In a video starring alongside YouTube personality Grant Horvat last month β€” a week after her grandfather set the internet alight in a video of himself with Bryson DeChambeau β€” Kai was asked who tends to win the matches between the two. She admitted that while they’re normally close, the former president usually gets the better of her.

The 17-year-old credited the former president for helping her realize her dream of attending college

She said, ‘I watched half of it (the DeChambeau video) because I was working out. It was amazing. It was crazy.

‘Honestly, he always gives me a run for my money. It’s not that close.’

“It’s never really game over and I won on the 15th hole. He wins a lot. I have to say that. I have to get better.”

She also shared the course with her grandfather, but as a teammate rather than an opponent.

They were part of a Pro-Am team ahead of the controversial LIV golf tournament at Trump’s Doral course in Florida.

Kai starred alongside uncle Eric Trump, Sergio Garcia, US PGA champion Brooks Koepka and a number of supporting roles for secret service agents.

And the young talent won’t be far from her family β€” and her grandfather’s golf courses β€” when she eventually leaves the nest with the University of Miami golf team and hits the fairways of The Biltmore, a golf club about nine miles from Trump’s Doral course in Miami.

Kai’s nearly 260 years of drive and dedication to the sport earned her the position of Varsity Captain at the Benjamin School, which is also attended by Tiger Woods’ son, Charlie.

Kai claims on her Instagram page that she is part of Callaway Next, ‘the next generation of Callaway Tour Pros.’

Her longest drive is said to be 275 yards. Only 14 players on the LPGA averaged a longer drive in 2023.

She played with the hard-hitting DeChambeau, Swedish pro Daniela Holmqvist, two-time world long drive champion Kyle Berkshire and other promising young players.

Kai met Woods and fellow major winners Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed.
