Kai Trump delivered her first campaign speech on the grand national stage of the Republican Party Convention on Wednesday, where she hinted at a future in politics.
Donald Trump Jr. gave up his microphone time so his 17-year-old daughter could speak briefly. He claims she called him Monday to ask if he would speak after the attempted murder of her grandfather.
Former President Donald Trump’s eldest granddaughter made her first campaign appearance with a speech in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, showing “a side of my grandfather that people don’t often see.”
Her first major political appearance came just four days after the attempted assassination of the former president.
“On Saturday I was shocked to hear ‘he was shot,’ and I just wanted to know if he was okay. It was heartbreaking that someone would do that to someone else,” Kai said.
“A lot of people put my grandpa through hell, and he’s still standing,” she told thousands of GOP delegates and party members. “Grandpa, you’re such an inspiration.”

Trump beamed as she continued her speech while her father stood on stage.
At one point he looked at North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, who was sitting next to him, and appeared to say of his granddaughter, “She’s good!”
“He always encourages me to be the most successful person I can be,” Kai said of the former president.
“He certainly sets the bar high,” she continued, laughing. “But who knows, maybe I’ll catch up with him someday.”
Kai took the stage earlier in the day on Wednesday for a recap of how the evening would unfold. She was joined by event producers and her parents Don Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa.
She took the stage before her father had finished his speech. And Trump’s newly named running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance, and his wife, Usha, wrapped up the Republican National Convention on Wednesday.

“He always encourages me to be the most successful person I can be,” Kai said of the former president, before hinting at a future in politics: “Of course he sets the bar pretty high. But who knows, maybe one day I’ll catch up to him.”
Kai is the eldest of Trump’s 10 grandchildren and was frequently in the spotlight during his first term in the White House.
The teen attended the 2017 inauguration and the White House Easter Egg Roll. Earlier this month, she attended a Trump rally at her grandfather’s club in Doral, Florida, along with several of her siblings and father.
On Wednesday she will make her debut on the national stage in primetime.
She is not allowed to vote in November because she will not become an adult until May 2025.
Kai is also a golfer and has a YouTube page dedicated to her time on the links.
She is only 17, but is already being tipped as the most successful golfer of the Trump dynasty.
Kai won the women’s club championship at her grandfather’s golf course in Palm Beach, Florida, and played with some of the biggest stars in the sport.

The teenager – daughter of Donald Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa – claims on her Instagram page that she is part of Callaway Next, ‘the next generation of Callaway Tour Pros.’
Her longest drive is said to be 275 yards. Only 14 players on the LPGA averaged a longer drive in 2023.
She played with hard-hitter Bryson DeChambeau, Swedish pro Daniela Holmqvist, two-time world long-distance champion Kyle Berkshire and other promising young players.
She also took the course together with her ‘grandfather’.
They were part of a Pro-Am team ahead of the controversial LIV golf tournament at Trump’s Doral course in Florida.
Kai starred alongside uncle Eric Trump, Sergio Garcia, US PGA champion Brooks Koepka and a number of supporting roles for secret service agents.
