Donald Trump’s campaign claims it has raised $7.1M in donations since historic mugshot was taken following his Georgia arrest

Trump has reaped financial gains by capitalizing on his own, now infamous, mugshot — raising a total of $7.1 million in fundraising since the mugshot was taken last Thursday.

The Trump 2024 presidential campaign has seen a notable surge in donations since last Thursday, which can be directly attributed to the former president’s tweet showing off his own mugshot.

On Saturday, the Trump 2024 presidential campaign officially confirmed that they raised nearly $20 million in fundraising over the past three weeks, in line with the federal indictment in Washington, D.C. and the widely publicized mugshot taken in Atlanta.

Former President Trump’s team told Fox News that a substantial portion of the nearly $20 million, amounting to $7.1 million, was collected following the release of his mugshot Thursday night in Atlanta.

According to Fox News, the Trump campaign received $4.18 million in funds on Friday, marking it as the most financially successful day of the entire campaign.

“Organic money has skyrocketed, especially after President Trump tweeted the photo along with the website,” the campaign told Fox News.

The increase in fundraising also appears to have been driven in part by merchandise sales through their online store.

Immediately after Trump was taken into custody, the campaign began selling merchandise featuring Trump’s mugshot, including shirts, posters, bumper stickers, and more.

The 77-year-old was arrested for the fourth time this year on Thursday and was fingerprinted by authorities at Atlanta’s Fulton County Jail — then shared his mugshot on X, formerly known as Twitter.

He did not have his booking photo taken during his previous arrests in New York City, Miami and Washington, DC

It was the former president’s first tweet since January 2021, when he was banned from Twitter following the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

He was subsequently released on payment of 10 percent of his $200,000 bail after spending just 20 minutes in the infamous facility.

Next up was the man many thought had won the noticeably Trump-less debate, biotech millionaire Vivek Ramaswamy, who recently beat DeSantis as the perceived winner in a poll organized by DailyMail.com. Here he scored only fourth place, with 7 percent.
