Donald Trump trial live updates: Stormy Daniels returns to the stand in the hush money case

From Emily Goodin, senior political reporter

It is believed that Melania Trump was at Mar-a-Lago when Stormy Daniels took the stand in the hush money case against Donald Trump.

As Daniels described her sexual encounter with the former president, the former first lady remained behind the closed doors of the Trumps’ private club in Palm Beach.

She is preparing for the couple’s son, Barron, to graduate from high school on Friday, May 17. And in honor of Mother’s Day, she’s selling a gold flower pendant that can be personalized with someone’s initials.

Barron attends a high school in Palm Beach, his parents’ main home. The Trumps have not disclosed where he will attend college.

Melania has not been seen at Donald Trump’s side for 31 days, since joining him at a fundraiser for his presidential campaign on April 6.

She was last seen hosting a fundraiser for Log Cabin Republicans at Mar-a-Lago on April 20.

The event was closed to press coverage, but former Trump administration official Richard Grenell, who is openly gay, posted photos on social media of him and the former first lady organizing the gathering.

Melania would read the coverage of the trial in New York, even if she considered it her husband’s problem.

When news of Donald Trump’s affair with Daniels — which he denies — originally broke in 2017, the then-first lady was said to be blindsided and furious with her husband.
