Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Tuesday he is ready to face Kamala Harris in a debate after she was named his new opponent.

The next debate was scheduled for September 10 between Trump and Joe Biden, hosted by ABC.

But that was uncertain after Biden withdrew and the former president expressed doubts about the network taking the lead.

At a press conference on Tuesday, he dismissed Harris’ campaigning credentials and said he would be willing to debate her more than once.

“I would like to,” he said. “I think it’s important.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Tuesday he was ready and willing to face Kamala Harris in a debate after she was named his new opponent.

‘I’m not so happy with ABC because it’s really fake news.

“I watched last night. They’re actually trying to make a hero out of Joe Biden, when he was the worst president in history.”

Trump and his campaign quickly moved to attack Harris after Biden announced Sunday that he would not seek re-election.

And the former president said he expected multiple confrontations with Harris on the debate stage.

“I don’t like the idea of ABC, I would actually like to participate in more than one debate,” he said.

Trump has already been cheered by knocking a candidate out of the race at a debate. It was Biden’s halting, awkward appearance in the debate state of Atlanta that first raised doubts and calls to oust him.

Harris, he told reporters, was no longer afraid after her disastrous 2020 presidential campaign ended almost as quickly as it began.

“So if she campaigns like that now, it’s just going to be harder, even though she’s getting a lot of support from the fake news. There’s no doubt about that,” he said.

“But if she campaigns like she did then, I suspect she won’t be as tough.”

He made the comments during a phone call intended to link Harris to the crisis at the border that has raged for the past three and a half years.

She was appointed by Biden to address the long-term drivers of immigration from the “Northern Triangle” of Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, helping generate $5 billion in investment.

Yet Republicans successfully spread the idea that she was the “border czar” responsible for the entire immigration crisis.

Trump and two representatives of the border agents’ union hammered home the idea during the call.

“She’s the same as Biden, but much more radical. She’s a radical leftist,” Trump said.

“This country doesn’t want a radical leftist who’s going to destroy it. She’s much more radical than he is. She wants open borders. She wants things that nobody wants.”

Trump said he plans to visit the border more often during the campaign.
