Donald Trump says Biden will go down as the ‘single worst president by far in the history of our country’ and reveals whether he thinks he can beat Kamala

Donald Trump criticized Joe Biden as the “worst president” in history, shortly after his Democratic rival withdrew from the 2024 race.

Trump told CNN that Biden is “the worst president in the history of our country. He’s going to go down in history as the single worst president in the history of our country.”

Vice President Kamala Harris will also be easier to beat than Biden.

The former president also told Truth Social that Biden only became president “because of lies, fake news and not coming out of his basement.”

“We will suffer greatly because of his presidency, but we will repair the damage he has done very quickly. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” he wrote.

Trump’s campaign is preparing for the possibility that Biden will withdraw from the race.

The former president has increasingly attacked Harris at his rallies as Democrats pressure Biden to resign.

Biden turned the presidential race on its head on Sunday with his shock announcement that he will abandon his re-election bid.

“While it was my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interests of my party and the country that I step down and focus solely on fulfilling the duties of my President for the remainder of my term,” he wrote in a letter to the American people.

He subsequently endorsed Harris as his successor, though it is unclear whether she will ultimately be the nominee.

Polls show that Trump would be Harris if she were the Democratic presidential nominee.

A YouGov poll last week found that 39 percent of respondents would vote for Harris and 44 percent for Trump.

The Democrats will nominate their candidate at their party convention next month.

The Democratic National Convention kicks off in Chicago from August 19 to 22. Biden is expected to formally accept the nomination there after winning 3,896 delegates in the primaries.

Because Biden withdrew from the race before officially becoming the nominee, the more than 3,900 delegates can cast their votes for any candidate during an open convention.

They could rally behind Harris, who under federal law is the only candidate allowed to use the money Biden raised for the 2024 race.

The delegates will vote on the convention floor.

If a candidate receives a majority of the pledged delegates on the first ballot, he becomes the party’s nominee.

If no candidate wins a majority, then the nearly 740 superdelegates, also known as automatic delegates, are also allowed to vote. They are a mix of party members and elected officials.

Voting continues until one candidate has a majority of the delegates.
