Former President Donald Trump’s Save America PAC — which has paid nearly $40 million since 2021 to lawyers fighting his multiple charges — is running a major deficit as Trump’s legal woes continue.
His laundry list of legal troubles — including 40 federal indictments in Florida, the Stormy Daniels hush-hush case in Manhattan and a threatening indictment in Georgia — means he will likely face trial during the next White House campaign.
In the first half of 2023, the Political Action Committee received $67 million in donations but spent more than $90 million, with $27 million going to Trump’s legal accounts, an average of 30 cents of every dollar they raised.
That amounts to a $23 million shortfall, with the ex-president potentially forced to reach into his own pockets after being charged again several weeks ago.
In a statement to the New York Timesspokesman Steven Chung said the president was not concerned.

Save America has gone through millions of dollars largely raised after Trump lost the 2020 election to Biden.
There are signs that the charges against Trump have actually helped fill his campaign coffers.
About 40 percent of his donations during the first six months of the year came within a week of his first two charges, peaking at about $4 million the day he was first charged in Florida.
