Donald Trump called his opponent Kamala Harris “retarded” in an unhinged tirade in which he lashed out at Republican donors.
The former president gave a speech to some of the wealthiest Americans at Trump Tower in New York City on September 29.
Instead of sweetly convincing them to open their wallets, he ripped into his supporters for dropping behind Harris in fundraising while he ate steak and hash browns.
The vice president has raised more than $1 billion in the just three months since she took over the race from President Joe Biden.

This is more than Trump raised all year, and on top of the money Biden’s campaign had when he quit on July 21.
Trump’s vicious slur against Harris was the worst comment, but no one was spared from Trump’s wrath, seven people there told the New York Times.
Wealthy donors had plenty of reasons to be grateful, he insisted, including cutting their taxes — though not all listeners agreed.
Trump also complained about how many Jews supported Harris, given his hardline pro-Israel stance, and claimed their heads should be investigated.
He used the same phrase about the Jews at many of his rallies, claiming that they would bear some of the blame if he lost the election.
Wealthy Republicans at the expensive dinner included hedge fund manager Paul Singer and investment banker Warren Stephens, both billionaires.

His former education secretary Betsy DeVos was there too, along with Joe Ricketts and his son Todd – again all billionaires.
At the same time that Trump insulted her, Harris raised another $28 million from her own fundraiser at the JW Marriott in Los Angeles.
Trump is no stranger to baselessly insulting the mental acuity of his opponents, doing so almost daily while Biden was still running against him.
Just last month, he called Harris “mentally retarded” at a rally in Pennsylvania.
Harris, on the other hand, apologized profusely after responding “well said” to a lengthy question from a voter who called Trump’s actions “mentally retarded.”
“That word and others like it are not acceptable. Ever,” she said, claiming she didn’t hear the voter say it at the time.

According to AdImpact, Harris spent $101.6 million to $48.3 million on Trump on TV ads last month, and $77 million to $9 million on Facebook and Instagram ads.
Trump has a long list of fundraisers to organize before the election, but Harris has so much money behind her that she will be done with it for the rest of the campaign.
The ex-president is also grumpy because he spends more time asking for money and less time speaking at rallies.
He is also frustrated at having to abandon his favorite way to relieve campaign stress – golf – due to security fears, after a gunman used one round at Mar-a-Lago to shoot him.
