Donald Trump leaves soccer fans furious after shock World Cup 2026 realization
Donald Trump’s astonishing return to the White House has sent shockwaves around the world this week.
The 78-year-old has been re-elected president after a resounding victory over Kamala Harris in Tuesday’s election, returning him to power four years after his defeat by Joe Biden.
But after inciting violence when he lost the 2020 election to Biden, and while currently facing 34 criminal charges, Trump becoming president again has inevitably stirred controversy.
And while his stance on issues such as abortion and immigration is of greatest concern to the American people, football fans are also furious that he is back in power after realizing that the 2026 World Cup will be held in the United States.
Mexico and Canada will also join their neighbors in hosting the illustrious football tournament, but the all-important final will take place at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey in the US.

The all-important final of the famous international football tournament will be held in the USA
If he wishes, it means that Trump will have the honor of presenting the famous World Cup trophy to the winners of the competition on Sunday, July 19, 2026.
And that prospect is not going down well with football fans.
One wrote on X: “Extremely sexy that Donald Trump is going to be the man to hand out the trophy at the World Cup final.”
“Wtf,” another user posted. “I’m not ready for that yet!”
A third said: ‘Are you kidding me?! FIFA of course…’
While people simply said: ‘ugh’.
The first and only time the United States hosted a World Cup, in 1994, saw then-President Bill Clinton opt not to attend the final between Brazil and Italy in California.
Instead, Vice President Al Gore had the honor of presenting Brazilian captain Dunga with the trophy at the Rose Bowl.
However, Trump is expected to attend the final at MetLife Stadium and take on ceremonial duties himself after the match.
