Donald Trump hailed by UFC fighters Colby Covington and Sean Strickland after former president was SHOT during campaign rally

UFC fighters Colby Covington and Sean Strickland have thrown their support behind Donald Trump after the former US president survived an assassination attempt on Saturday.

Trump was speaking at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, when at least eight bullets were fired. Trump had blood coming from his ear.

And Covington called him “the toughest man on the planet” after the horrifying incident.

“God bless him and his family at this time,” he added on X.

Strickland also said, “Trump is a complete barbarian… A man gets shot and continues to do it for his people… A complete barbarian….”

Additionally, following his fight at Saturday’s UFC event, Evan Elder gave a shoutout to Trump.

“Hey. I heard they were just about to beat up my boy Trump,” he said. “I’m glad the man’s okay. Long live Trump. Let’s go baby Trump 2024.”

His team said afterwards that he was “fine,” while the Secret Service confirmed that the incident was being investigated as attempted murder.

However, it is now being reported that Trump may have been hit by a piece of glass that flew off a teleprompter and shattered during the shooting.

At least eight bullets were fired during the incident.

Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger told reporters that the shooter is dead and a bystander was also killed.

Covington, 36, and Strickland, 33, have previously publicly expressed their support for Trump.

Covington’s profile photo on X shows him with the former president, while his bio on the website boasts of being the first UFC champion invited to the White House.

Strickland defended Trump in January after he was found guilty of 34 crimes in New York state.

“President Trump, you’re the man, bro,” he said after defeating Paulo Costa.

‘It’s a fucking disgrace what they do to you. I’m going to donate [to] you, my man. Let’s do it.’
