Trump explains why Gaza ‘could be better than Monaco’ after post-war reconstruction
Donald Trump said if he returns to power he could help develop war-torn Gaza into a place “better than Monaco” and “the best in the Middle East.”
The former president told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt that Gaza has some of the best land and water in the Middle East and claimed he could turn it into an oasis in the aftermath of the war.
Gaza lies in ruins amid an ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas terrorists operating from the Palestinian enclave. Monday marks one year since terrorists invaded Israel and carried out the largest single-day massacre of Jewish people since the Holocaust.
Thousands of Palestinians have been killed in the crosshairs of the war and many of the structures have been reduced to rubble.
“You know how to build things. Gaza is in ruins,” Hewitt noted in an interview with the former president. ‘Could Gaza be Monaco if it were rebuilt properly? Could anyone make Gaza into something that the entire Palestinian people would be proud of, that they would want to live in, that would benefit them?”

Trump insisted: “It could be better than Monaco.”
“It has the best location in the Middle East, the best water, the best of everything,” he continued. ‘It’s true, it’s the best, I’ve been saying it for years. You know, I’ve been there, and it’s tough. It’s a rough place, before the, you know, before all the attacks and before the events of the last few years.”
Monaco is a small European country on the Mediterranean Sea known for its crystal blue waters, idyllic landscapes and the famous area of Monte Carlo. After the Vatican, Monaco is the smallest sovereign nation in the world.
Like Monaco, Gaza is located on the waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
Hewitt suggested that Trump could turn Gaza into a different kind of Monaco if he becomes president again and ends the war between Israel and Hamas.
“I mean, they’ve got the back of a plant looking out at the ocean, you know. They would have, because in that respect there was no ocean. They never took advantage of it,” Trump said.

“You know, as a developer, this could be the most beautiful place: the weather, the water, everything, the climate,” he continued. ‘It could be so beautiful. It could be the best in the Middle East, but it could also be one of the best places in the world.”
Trump believes Abraham Accord partners in the Middle East can help him rebuild Gaza.
The accords were agreements reached on September 15 between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and Israel and Bahrain, with the two Middle Eastern countries recognizing the sovereignty of the Jewish state.
