Donald Trump’s campaign has raised more than $4 million for the families of the three men who were killed or injured in Saturday’s assassination attempt.
At the time of writing, the number of Trump-approved GoFundMe amounted to $4,328,763 – more than four times the original goal of $1 million.
All donations will be divided among the families of late firefighter Corey Comperatore, 50; David Dutch, 57; and James Copenhaver, 74, as they grieve or wait for their loved ones to recover.
Trump’s team confirmed the authenticity of the GoFundMe to The Hill. The two surviving victims are reportedly in stable condition in hospitals.

“President Donald Trump has authorized this account as a venue for donations to the supporters and families injured or killed in today’s brutal and horrific assassination attempt,” reads a description on the heavily trafficked webpage.
All donations will go to these proud Americans as they grieve and recover.
“May God bless and unite our nation,” it concludes.
More than 358 people responded to show their support, while a whopping 56,500 people opened their figurative wallets.
The largest donation appears to have come from former Trump backer Steve Wynn, a billionaire and former casino operator who lobbies tirelessly for the Republican Party front-runner.
That gift amounted to a whopping $50,000, from a man Trump handpicked in 2017 to become the finance chairman of the Republican National Committee.
In the comments, bystanders expressed their sadness at the loss of one life as a result of the shooting, but also feelings of sympathy for the victims who are still suffering and their families.
Most of the attention focused on Corey Comperatore, a firefighter who was struck by one of the bullets fired by 20-year-old gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks while trying to protect his family.
He was hailed as “a brave man, a patriot, a husband, son and father” and was posthumously promised: “This country will always remember you.”

They were all shot by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who somehow managed to get just 130 yards from where the aspiring president was speaking in Butler. An investigation is underway
Others pulled out the two remaining men, both seriously injured but said to be in stable condition.
Copenhaver, a retiree from Moon Township, Pennsylvania, was a grandfather who left behind a wife and two children.
Dutch, meanwhile, was from New Kensington and had been a former Marine
“He’s had one surgery and is having another this morning,” Matt Popovich, deputy commander of MCL District 8, wrote in a Facebook post. “He’s currently in a medically induced coma.”
The outpouring of donations comes as the Secret Service faces mounting questions about how Crooks managed to get within 400 feet of where the aspiring president spoke in Butler.
The Butler resident shot Trump in the ear with an AR-style rifle his father had legally purchased, and was killed within seconds by Secret Service agents. An investigation is underway.
