Donald Trump claims he has FIVE THOUSAND accusers behind him as he addresses the North Carolina GOP convention in the wake of the classified documents indictment — and says he is enjoying the attacks ‘in a sick way’

Donald Trump lamented his ongoing legal troubles and exaggerated to a North Carolina mob that there are thousands of prosecutors chasing him.

The former president lamented many of his comments Saturday night about the Justice Department’s recent 37-point indictment against him in relation to his handling of classified documents.

Trump admitted that he “sickly enjoys” the ongoing attacks, noting that his popularity continues to rise as more Democrats follow suit.

“We have 5,000 prosecutors on our tail,” Trump said.

The latest came when Trump attended the GOP convention dinner in North Carolina on Saturday night to address key players in the increasingly purple state.

It came on the heels of the ex-president’s first public appearance since the documents in his “joke of an indictment” were unsealed on Friday, revealing 37 charges against Trump in the case related to his handling of classified documents.

Upon landing on Trump Force One at the Greensboro airport, Trump was greeted by a crowd of supporters in the hangar who wanted the chance to interact with the former president and have him sign their MAGA gear.

Some argue that the impeachment of Trump has “backfired” and has only emboldened his base.

Trump echoed this sentiment during his first speech of the day in Columbus, Georgia, saying the charges have only improved his polling results.

The afternoon speech at the Peach State GOP convention was used by Trump as his time to go against the Democratic establishment after the indictment was unsealed Friday.

“At the end of the day, they’re not coming after me, they’re coming after you — and I’m just getting in their way and I always will,” Trump told the Republican crowd.

The Justice Department on Friday unsealed an indictment laying 37 charges against Trump, revealing that the former president kept classified documents in a bathroom at Mar-a-Lago and in boxes on a stage at the Florida club

The 2024 candidate appeared alongside Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene in his first remarks since the Department of Justice (DOJ) revealed 37 charges against him in its classified documents case, including 31 charges of willful preservation of national defense information under the Espionage Act.

He will appear before a court in Miami on Tuesday afternoon and has already said that he will “of course” plead not guilty.

In the North Carolina town, with a population of 298,263, Trump was right at home in the small-town Sheraton ballroom, red America, where he spoke to a crowd of delegates and other North Carolina Republican Party insiders.

Trump won North Carolina by just a 1.34 percent margin over President Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.

During his remarks earlier Saturday in Georgia, the former president continued to ramp up his rhetoric against the Justice Department, FBI, Biden and Democrats at large, criticizing the “double standard” in the federal government.

“Republicans are treated very differently in the Justice Department than Democrats,” he complained.

The former president added, “Every time I fly over a blue state, I get a subpoena.”

The back-to-back appearances on Saturday follow revelations that Trump had left secret documents scattered around his bathroom at his Florida estate and in boxes on the Mar-a-Lago ballroom stage.

The 49-page indictment also includes the stunning claim that Trump bragged to aides about stealing military secrets.

Details in the indictment are much more damning than first thought, and could put Trump in serious legal jeopardy with possible decades in prison if convicted.
